Volume 102: Akka 1873–1892 year unknown, Part II (2 of 2)
BH10477: O Greater Branch! O Diya! O Badi’! O Mahd!…
He is the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
O Greater Branch! O Diya! O Badi’! O Mahd! God willing, through divine favor, turn ye with utmost joy and gladness unto the Most Exalted Horizon. For these two days the weather here hath been fair; thereafter, the matter resteth in His hand. Assuredly, do not delay, but set forth and come. Thus hath the Pen spoken in this exalted station.
Howbeit, the clouds have somewhat obscured the moonlight; notwithstanding this, it is still very pleasant. If it be not possible for all to come at once in sufficient number, then let some come today and others tomorrow. Upon you be My glory.
BH10478: O My Branch! Upon thee be My glory. All…
O My Branch! Upon thee be My glory. All are well. Beneath the shadow of the Blessed Lote-Tree they are occupied with the remembrance and praise of the Lord of Names. Thy specimens reached Us, and, God willing, from time to time others likewise will arrive. They were accepted and found pleasing. We beseech God that, through thy being, He may bestow upon the people of composition grace and blessing, honor and prosperity, fair penmanship and perfection.
Glory and peace be upon you, and upon My Afnan, from the presence of God, the Lord of all worlds.
Thy new script [khatt-i-jadid] is exceedingly fine. God willing, mayest thou be confirmed in all things.
BH10508: Blessed the man who will read it [the Kitab-i-Aqdas]…
Blessed the man who will read it [the Kitab-i-Aqdas], and ponder the verses sent down in it by God, the Lord of Power, the Almighty. Say, O men! Take hold of it with the hand of resignation…
By My life! It hath been sent down in a manner that amazeth the minds of men. Verily, it is My weightiest testimony unto all people, and the proof of the All-Merciful unto all who are in heaven and all who are on earth
BH10243: We have mentioned the sovereign—may God assist…
…We have mentioned the sovereign—may God assist him—in most of Our Tablets with a mention whose fragrance shall endure and persist. However, His Majesty hath not recognized the value of this bounty and hath paid no heed to forty years of service. Now he is afflicted with that which none save God is aware of. His rest and sleep have been cut off by God’s command….
BH10191: We enjoin Our brothers and their sons to love…
He is the Mighty, the Wise!
We enjoin Our brothers and their sons to love My Branches and to render them services. We have nurtured them and protected them and guided those among them who were guided to My straight path. O My kinsmen and sons of My brothers! Fear God and dispute not about My verses and My Branches. This is what We counseled you before and in this perspicuous Tablet.
BH10321: My Most Exalted Pen beareth witness unto the people…
He is the All-Seeing, the All-Informed
My Most Exalted Pen beareth witness unto the people of Baha that there is none other God but Me, the All-Compelling, the Self-Subsisting. God hath heard the cry of him who hath turned unto His Face and perceived the fragrance of His garment in the days of his Lord, the Mighty, the All-Loving. O people of God! Rejoice in this Most Great Remembrance through which every hidden mystery hath been made manifest. He remembereth and praiseth His own Self, and remembereth His Afnan after His Aghsan, then those who have held fast unto that which is praiseworthy. Glory be unto him who hath shown justice in the Cause of God, the Lord of what was and what shall be.
BH10405: And as to the question about items found along…
And as to the question about items found along the way, God’s decree is that if they are found in cities and villages, a crier must make one proclamation and inform the people of that city or village. If the owner is found, they shall return it and collect the crier’s fee. Otherwise, they shall wait nineteen days. If the owner is not found, it reverts to the finder. And if it occurs in the wilderness, its limit is set at two units in the Book of God.
BH10496: O Nazir! The Greater Branch was present and made…
O Nazir! The Greater Branch was present and made mention of thee. Praise be to God that for years thou hast dwelt beneath the shade of the Divine Lote-Tree, and this Wronged One hath been with thee in all conditions. We beseech God to open before thy face the portals of His bounty and bestowals, to give thee to drink from the Kawthar of His utterance, and to ordain for thee all the good that He hath sent down in His Book. Verily He is the All-Bountiful, the Generous. Peace and glory be upon thee and upon thy son Habibu’llah. We beseech God to assist him to remember and praise Him, and to aid him in that which will draw him nigh unto Him. Verily He is the Ever-Flowing, the All-Forgiving, the All-Merciful.
BH10530: Today the sacred precinct of the garden is adorned…
Today the sacred precinct of the garden is adorned by a company; yet that noble place is empty, inasmuch as the Wronged One is not present. Diya’u’llah—upon him be the Baha of God—was present and discharged the office of representation. This servant, upon him be glory, and the others as well, inwardly and outwardly, in heart and in manifest form, send their greetings, and have been and remain expectant of thy coming. We send greetings also to Majd and Rida—upon them both be glory—and likewise to Haji ʿAli and the others.
BH10714: O Greater Branch! Upon thee be the glory…
He is the All-Knowing, the All-Informed.
O Greater Branch! Upon thee be the glory of God, the Lord of the Throne, and the peace of God, the Lord of the Seat. Thy letter hath reached Us; We have read it and have answered thee with this manifest Tablet.
We beseech God to enable thee to perform a deed that shall endure through the abiding of the kingdom of earth and of heaven. Glory be upon thee, and upon all who love thee, who circle round thee, and who hearken unto thee to learn that which draweth them nigh unto God, the Lord of all the worlds.
Convey, on Our behalf, to His Honour Majdu’d-Din and to our Amir ʿAli Zahir-ul-Islam, the glory of God be upon them both.
BH10673: Verily, this evanescent servant proclaimeth before the face…
He is the One with power over whatsoever He willeth through His word “Be” and it is!
Verily, this evanescent servant proclaimeth before the face of the world that regarding the conflict between the two powers, the Will of God hath ordained thus: after the complete weakening of the Ottoman state, other powers shall intervene and establish peace.
After a time all the governments on earth will change. Oppression will envelop the world. And following a universal convulsion, the sun of justice will rise from the horizon of the unseen realm.
Thus hath spoken the Tongue of manifest truth.
BH11905: In truth, the Naddafs have attained unto the fruit…
In truth, the Naddafs have attained unto the fruit of existence. My Pen beareth witness to their detachment, My tongue to their acceptance, and My heart to their steadfastness in the Cause of God, the Self-Subsisting, the All-Compelling. They are among those souls who from the earliest days until now have been occupied with His praise and glorification and have been assisted in unity in His path, exalted be He. Today is the day of deeds and not of words, and their deeds are a truthful witness and faithful testimony to their love, detachment and service. They have been created through the conquering Will of God and are related unto Him. Well is it with them and joy be unto them.
BH10749: The means for selling are not available…
He is God
The means for selling are not available, and in no wise would it be deemed advisable at present. Even if something should be found now, matters more necessary and more important than that are at hand. Command resteth in the hand of God: He doeth whatsoever He willeth and is not asked of that which He willeth. He is the ordainer of what He chooseth. Glory be upon thee and upon those who love thee for the sake of God.
Convey our greetings to Amr—namely Mahd-i-‘Ulya—and to the others as well. Today the intention was to turn in this direction; why then did they defer it?
BH10888: The climate of those regions is hot; one should…
He is God.
The climate of those regions is hot; one should avoid eating what is unsuitable–namely hot and heavy foods. God, exalted be His glory, is the Protector and the Helper; yet He hath ordained means and hath commanded recourse unto them. Whatever effort is exerted in the acquisition of useful sciences is beloved. As for the means of trade, up to the present no suitable means for that have appeared; thereafter, God will do whatsoever He willeth. All are enjoined unto this—that is, to be occupied with some manner of work.
BH10899: O Ism-i-Jud, upon thee be My glory! The letter…
O Ism-i-Jud, upon thee be My glory! The letter of Mulla Ali, upon him be My glory, was considered. Write a reply to him and on behalf of the Wronged One show loving-kindness to him and the other people of that land. He asked about two matters. First, regarding the washing of the feet in winter and summer—both have one ruling. In both cases lukewarm water is preferable, though there is no harm in using cold water.
BH10796: Regarding the letter of Mirza Ghulam-ʿAli
Regarding the letter of Mirza Ghulam-ʿAli:
Concerning what they wrote about marriage—it is not permissible to forgo it, for it is among God’s traditions established among creatures, as has been revealed in detail from the Holy Kingdom in the Most Holy Book. All must act according to it.
And regarding that honored one’s journey to the Most Holy Court, permission is granted to journey for a few days and return.
BH10890: Likewise, We have enjoined upon all to engage…
Likewise, We have enjoined upon all to engage in some occupation. Blessed is he who beareth burdens but causeth none to bear his own. Let him engage in craft and profession—a single coin earned thereby is, in the sight of God, more beloved than the treasure that is gathered unrightfully and made ready.
BH10800: According to the utterance of Zarangiz, Aqa Diya came…
He is the Mighty, the Beloved
According to the utterance of Zarangiz, Aqa Diya came, and through the words, “We strengthened them with a third,” even so was it with Aqa Badiʿ. Therefore was this Tablet, which hath shone forth from the horizon of the heaven of loving-kindness, sent down. God willing, ye have attained, and shall attain, unto every good. Should ye cast off indolence, ye shall be made recipients even of “We strengthened them with the alif.” The glory be upon you, and upon such as are with you and love you.
BH11057: Your mention was submitted before the Most Holy Court…
Your mention was submitted before the Most Holy Court. In reply He hath said:
“There hath appeared, in this very hour, from the treasury of the utterance of God, the Lord of all the worlds, this Most Exalted Word: Glory from Our presence, and peace from Us, be upon My Greater Branch, and upon My Afnan, and upon those who are with them from among the loved ones of God, the Mighty, the All-Praised.”
BH11138: O My brethren! We admonish you, your children…
He is the All-Knowing.
O My brethren! We admonish you, your children, and all who are in the world, concerning My Branches: beware lest ye oppose them, or commit that which grieveth them. Unto them belongeth the most exalted station and the loftiest rank among you. Fear God, and be not of the wrongdoers.
Hearken unto that whereunto God hath enjoined you, and be not of the heedless.
BH11188: O concourse of servants! The Wronged One announceth unto…
O concourse of servants! The Wronged One announceth unto you, from the presence of the Lord of creation, that the ordinance of holy war hath been lifted from the Book. Thus hath the Lord of all mankind decreed in the world to come.
We have committed the reins of attire and of beards into your own hands: do ye as ye please. Thus hath the luminary of permission dawned from the horizon of the Most True One, the Lord of the Day of Resurrection.
BH11299: A letter addressed to the people of Ta was…
He is God, exalted is He
