Volume 062: Akka 1298 A.H. (1880–1881), Part I (7 of 7)
BH06348: O people of Baha! Hearken unto the call…
He is the Trusted Counselor
O people of Baha! Hearken unto the call of God, the Lord of Names, which hath been raised from the direction of the white spot, the Station which God hath described through the tongue of the Prophets and Messengers. It behooveth you to hold fast in this Day unto the wisdom which God hath sent down in His perspicuous Book. Verily it is the lamp of the All-Merciful in the contingent world and the Most Great Sign for all who are in the heavens and the earth.
Say: Believe not every speaker, neither be assured by all that is revealed, nor hearken unto every claimant, nor associate with every heedless doubter. Thus hath My Most Exalted Pen spoken aforetime and at this hour.
O Hasan! Be excellent even as God hath been excellent unto thee, then act according to that which hath been sent down in the Book from the presence of an ancient Revealer. There hath been ordained for you in the Book of your Lord that which shall bring joy to the eyes of them that are nigh.
When thou hast attained unto the traces of God and His remembrance, then turn and say: Praise be unto Thee, O Thou Who art the Goal of the world and the Beloved of them that have known Thee! The glory be upon thee and upon thy brother and thy father who hath ascended unto God, the Lord of this wondrous Day.
BH06484: This blessed Word shineth forth like unto the sun…
In the Name of the One God!
This blessed Word shineth forth like unto the sun from the horizon of the heaven of God’s Tablet. All must fix their gaze upon it and hold fast unto it. The House is the Bayan, and wisdom is its lamp. Knowledge is its heaven and justice is its sun. The world hath been darkened by the dust of heedless souls and prevented from its delicacy.
All must beseech God that through the breaths of the breezes of the All-Merciful and the effulgences of the lights of His divine countenance He may dispel the darkness and illumine all with the light of His face and perfume them with the fragrances of His days. He is, verily, the Almighty, the Powerful.
Blessed is the soul that hath today attained unto the remembrance of God. The Point of the Bayan hath said that all exist that they might be mentioned but once in the holy court. Blessed is he who hath attained unto this exalted station. It behooveth thee to render thanks unto thy Lord, the Generous Bestower.
The clouds of the desires of souls have prevented the sun of justice from shining forth, such that it remaineth concealed while the world is afflicted and entangled. Thus doth the All-Informed apprise you. Verily, He is the Speaker, the Truthful, the Trustworthy.
The glory be upon thee and upon the loved ones of God, the Lord of all worlds.
BH06746: The glance of divine favor hath been and will…
In the Name of the Beloved of the Worlds!
The glance of divine favor hath been and will continue to be directed towards the loved ones, and He hath given them all the glad-tidings of blessings both outward and inward, and commanded them to perform such deeds as are the greatest means for the perpetuation of souls and their goodly remembrance. Well is it with the soul who hath in this Day recognized the Day of God and acted as behooveth it.
This is the Day whereof the All-Forgiving, the All-Merciful gave tidings unto His Holiness Moses, and from the horizons of divine Books its mention hath risen and shone forth even as the sun. O friends! Know ye its worth.
That which causeth joy unto all today hath been and will be, by the life of God, the cause of the greatest sorrow. Fix your gaze upon the most great joy. Speak and hear ye in His Name. Let not the opportunity slip from your grasp.
Strive that from the trees of existence such fruits may appear and become manifest as befit the station of man. This is the counsel of the Peerless Friend unto thee and unto His friends.
The glory be upon thee and upon thy father and thy mother from before God, the Goal of them that have known, and praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds.
BH06834: O Rida! The Creator of the heavens maketh mention…
He is manifest above all things
O Rida! The Creator of the heavens maketh mention of thee from this most exalted station and ultimate goal, that thou mayest rejoice and be of those whom the veils of mortals have not withheld from the Lord of destiny, and whom neither cannons nor armies have frightened. We have heard thy call and have answered thee through this epistle as a token of Our grace. Verily thy Lord is the All-Forgiving.
The Promise hath come and the Promised One hath appeared with such sovereignty as the ranks of the invisible and visible could not prevent. He speaketh at all times, saying: “O peoples of all religions! By God, the All-Merciful hath come in His name, the Self-Subsisting! Arise to serve the Cause!” This is what We foretold you aforetime in Our words: “On the Day when mankind shall stand before the Lord of the Kingdom and the Realm.”
This is the Day wherein the ocean of attainment hath surged and the fragrance of the garment hath been diffused. Blessed are the people who recognize.
We send greetings from this station upon the faces of My loved ones there, that the greeting may so transport them that they move not except by God’s command, the Mighty, the Loving. The glory rest upon thee and upon them from the presence of the Truth, the Knower of things unseen.
BH07420: O Muhammad! Your call hath reached the ears…
He is the One manifest from the horizon of Revelation!
O Muhammad! Your call hath reached the ears of the Wronged One in this spot which hath been named at times the Kingdom, at other times the Realm of Might, at times the Most Great Scene, and at times the Most Beautiful Names in the Crimson Book. Verily thy Lord is the All-Knowing, the All-Informed.
Rejoice thou that We have heard thy call and that which thou didst commune with God, the Lord of the worlds, and have answered thee through this Tablet which hath shone forth from the horizon of its heaven with the light of thy Lord’s loving-kindness, the Almighty, the All-Powerful.
Say: O my God and Master of my destiny! I testify that Thou hast appeared and manifested through Thy power whatsoever Thou didst will, in such wise that the tongues of all created things are powerless to describe it. I beseech Thee by the sweet savors of Thy days and the fragrance of the garment of Thy grace to make me in all conditions to gaze toward Thee and to speak forth Thy Name.
O Lord! Protect me within the stronghold of Thy mercy lest the arrows of them that have disbelieved in Thy signs affect my soul. O Lord! Thou art the Giver and I am the suppliant. Do with me as befitteth Thy generosity and bounty. Verily Thou art the Ever-Forgiving, the All-Bountiful.
BH07323: O ear of the world! Turn that perchance thou…
He is the Manifest, the Speaking One, the All-Knowing
O ear of the world! Turn that perchance thou mayest hear what the Most Great Name uttereth in this luminous Scene.
By God’s life! The very rocks have melted from the heat of the love of the Chosen One, yet the wicked are in great drunkenness, having been intoxicated by the wine of pride in such wise that they have been debarred from the Possessor of the Manifestation Who hath come with manifest sovereignty.
We have revealed Our Self and spoken the Most Exalted Word, whereupon all who are in the heavens and on earth were thunderstruck, except such as have clung to My holy and purified and mighty and impregnable hem.
We have built for thee from the iron rods of utterance that which will not be altered by the vicissitudes of time. To this thy Lord, the All-Merciful, the Most Compassionate, doth testify.
Cast aside what the Manifestations of idle fancy have spoken and take what hath come unto thee from God, the Lord of the worlds. Thus hath the ocean of knowledge surged when the call of the All-Merciful was raised. Blessed is he who hath recognized, and woe unto the heedless!
We send from this Spot Our glorification upon thee and upon those who have held fast to the cord of the loving-kindness of their Lord, the Mighty, the All-Praised.
BH08337: We have seen thy turning unto Us, and We…
He is the Witness, the Hearer, the All-Knowing!
We have seen thy turning unto Us, and We have turned unto thee, and We have heard thy call and have called unto thee from behind the Most Great Ocean at the Spot wherein was raised the shrill voice of My Most Exalted Pen, that thou mayest give thanks unto thy Lord, the Beneficent.
Say: Glory be unto Thee, O Thou through Whose Name the hearts of the Messengers soared in the atmosphere of Thy love and the hearts of them who are nigh unto Thee turned toward the horizon of Thy glory! I beseech Thee to ordain for me from the wonders of Thy grace that which will profit me in Thy worlds.
O my Lord! I have turned unto Thee and have placed my trust in Thee. I implore Thee by Thy greatness and Thy sovereignty and Thy might and Thy power not to deprive me of that which Thou hast ordained for Thy chosen ones and Thy trusted ones. Verily Thou art He Whom the conditions of creation cannot frustrate, nor can the might of those who have denied Thy Self and turned away from Thy sacred Cause, the Mighty, the Wondrous.
May the Glory rest upon thee and upon thy brother and upon those who have believed in the One, the All-Informed.
BH08377: Say: O my God and the God of creation…
He is sanctified above mention and utterance!
Say: O my God and the God of creation, my Beloved and the Beloved of all who are in the heavens and on earth! I beseech Thee by Thy Branches whom Thou hast made the Daysprings of the lights of Thy countenance, to assist me to love Thee and to gain Thy good-pleasure, and to remember and praise Thee in such wise that the clamor of Thy creatures and the hints of those who have disbelieved in Thee and Thy signs may not silence me.
Glory be unto Thee! O Thou in Whose grasp are the reins of the affairs of the world! I beseech Thee to inscribe me among those who have turned unto Thee and cast behind their backs all vain imaginings, directing their hearts to the court of Thy gifts, and whom the rapture of Thy utterance hath so seized that they have detached themselves from all else but Thee.
Verily Thou art the Almighty from Whose knowledge nothing escapeth and Whose decree nothing can frustrate. Thou art God, the Powerful, the All-Willing, the Mighty, the All-Wise.
BH08719: O handmaiden of God! Your prose was heard…
In the name of the one peerless God, the All-Seeing!
O handmaiden of God! Your prose was heard and the verse you sent also attained the honor of being heard. Blessed are those souls whom today the veils of glory did not prevent from the Beloved Who never perishes.
Take hold, with the hand of certitude, of the hem of thy Lord’s mercy, the Almighty, the All-Powerful. How many were the divines and princes who remained deprived of the Water of Life, while thou, praise be to God, didst attain unto it and drink therefrom.
It behooveth thee to thank Him with a remembrance that will endure throughout the duration of the Kingdom and the heavenly Dominion. The glory be upon thee and upon those women who have heard and turned with their hearts toward a station round which circle the Concourse on High and the dwellers of this glorious station.
He verily recordeth for whomsoever He willeth the reward of attaining His presence. Thy Lord is, verily, the Almighty, the All-Compelling.
BH09790: O thou who drinkest the choice wine of utterance!…
In the Name of the All-Knowing, the All-Seeing!
O thou who drinkest the choice wine of utterance! Today is the day of remembrance and the day of steadfastness. The beginning of the Cause was belief in God, and its end is steadfastness in His love. Beseech ye God that He may graciously enable all to attain to this exalted and most sublime station. By the Sun of Being which shineth resplendent above the horizon of bounty! All the peoples of the earth shall ere long return with utter loss and disappointment to their abodes, save those sanctified souls who have, through God’s grace, attained their goal and quaffed from the Kawthar of divine knowledge. Great effort is required to preserve this station. Blessed are they that have attained! Praise be to God, the Lord of all worlds.
BH10265: Mention was made of you in the prison. Praise…
In the name of the Desire of the world
Mention was made of you in the prison. Praise be to God that through His supreme grace and greatest bounty you have attained unto the recognition of God—Who is the Dawning-Place of verses and the Dayspring of evidences. No station greater than this has existed or will ever exist before God. Should the light of this station, even less than an atom thereof, be shed upon the world, all would exclaim: “This is from God’s bounty, the Most High, the Most Great!” We counsel you to steadfastness in the Cause of your Lord and in that whereby the mention of God, the Lord of all worlds, is exalted.
