Volume 059: Akka 1296 A.H. (1879), Part II (5 of 7)
BH09250: We have manifested trustworthiness upon the temple of man…
He is the One Who Dawneth from the Horizon of Immortality
We have manifested trustworthiness upon the temple of man, and verily he crieth out amidst the people of existence, saying:
“All bounty belongeth unto him who hath clung unto me and acted according to that which was commanded by God, the Lord of all men.”
Those who have turned away from me have no portion in the Book.
O people of the earth! Hearken unto my call and hold fast unto my cord. By God! Through it the Cause of God and His dominion over all religions shall be exalted. Arise from the slumber of passion, then drink the choice wine of trustworthiness from the hand of the bounty of your Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower.
Thus have We sent down the verses and dispatched them unto him who hath believed in God, the Manifestation of clear proofs.
BH09256: We have indeed expounded the Point and have brought…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Great!
We have indeed expounded the Point and have brought forth from it the knowledge of what was and what will be, and have caused all things to speak forth that which the Lord of Names has testified. He is, verily, the One Who oversees every witness and witnessed thing.
When the choice wine of revelation has taken hold of you from the hand of My bounty and My most sweet call has drawn you to the horizon of My loving-kindness, arise and say:
O You in Whose hand lies the kingdom of names and in Whose grasp are all who dwell on earth and in heaven! I beseech You by Your Name through which the Concourse on High rejoiced to make me in all conditions one who speaks forth Your praise and stands firm in Your Cause. Verily, You are the Powerful over whatsoever You will. There is no God but You, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
BH09283: O Hasan! Thy letter was presented before the Wronged…
In the Name of the One God!
O Hasan! Thy letter was presented before the Wronged One and attained the honor of His gracious regard. We counsel thee and all My loved ones to manifest the Most Great Steadfastness and the Most Great Trustworthiness. Make wisdom a lamp unto yourselves, then walk thereby in the darkness of the earth. Thus doth the All-Knowing counsel you.
Say: O Thou Beloved of the heavens and earth, and the Powerful over all who are in the kingdom of Command and Creation! I beseech Thee by those who were martyred in the land of Sad in Thy path, O Lord of creation, to make me steadfast in Thy service, then accept from me what I have done in Thy days. O my Lord! Thou art the Generous and I am the supplicant at Thy gate, hoping for what lieth with Thee. Verily, Thou art the Forgiving, the Merciful.
BH09448: The divine favor hath encompassed thee. Thou didst attain…
He is the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful.
The divine favor hath encompassed thee. Thou didst attain the presence of the Most Holy Court and wert honored with attaining His presence. Thou must, God willing, act according to that which He loveth and is pleased with.
Man must needs possess human qualities. Through God’s loving-kindness, all the friends must manifest goodly deeds and spiritual qualities. Every good deed is today, and shall continue to be, the cause of the exaltation of His Cause.
Convey to all the friends greetings from God, and say: The Wronged One of the world remembereth you from the prison of the people of discord, and calleth you unto trustworthiness, truthfulness, steadfastness and fidelity.
The glory be upon you and upon him who heareth and respondeth.
BH09358: A remembrance unto My servant who hearkened unto…
He is the Glorious, the Most Glorious!
A remembrance unto My servant who hearkened unto that which God, the Lord of the worlds, proclaimed and responded to Him in days when the skin of the learned ones trembled and the feet of the mystics slipped.
O Qasim! We have mentioned thee before and have sent down verses unto thee as a bounty from Our presence, and verily I am the All-Wise.
Today each one of the loved ones of God must gather round the Tree of the Manifestation, and each according to their capacity must strive to diffuse the sweet fragrances of love and fellowship among the friends. Blessed is the state of the one who acted upon the divine counsels.
Hold fast to the cord of My loving-kindness and cling to the hem of thy resplendent Lord. We, from this station, pronounce Our “Allah-u-Akbar” upon thy face, that thou mayest give thanks unto thy Lord, the Forgiving, the Merciful.
BH09187: When the horizon of Manifestation was illumined…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Great, the Most Exalted, the Most Glorious
When the horizon of Manifestation was illumined and the birds burst into song, trembling seized the dwellers of the earth save those whom God caused to dwell beneath the shadow of His Name, the Self-Subsisting. Say: He spoke a word whereupon the heavens were cleft asunder, the earth was rent, and every stubborn tyrant returned to his abode. Say: When He entered the Most Great Prison, He proclaimed unto the nations with His most exalted call. To this testifieth what hath been sent down from His Supreme Pen in His preserved Tablet. He is the One Who arose to proclaim the Cause in such wise that the hosts of the world could not deter Him, nor could the ranks of men prevent Him from His firm and wise command. Thus did the ocean of My bounty surge, and the rains of My gifts shower down, that ye might be among them that rejoice.
BH09525: In My Name, the All-Knowing
In My Name, the All-Knowing
The Book of God hath been sent down in truth from the presence of One knowing and wise. Verily it is the Balance of Truth amongst creation and the Most Great Sign for all who are in the heavens and the earth. Through it the horizon of justice hath been illumined and that which was hidden in God’s knowledge, the Lord of all worlds, hath been made manifest. Verily it judgeth between the servants with pure justice, and it is indeed the Judge from God, the Mighty, the Praised. Whoso hath been heedless of it is indeed the heedless, the doubtful one. And whoso hath recognized it is among the people of Baha in a noble tablet. Whoso hath attained unto My recognition hath attained unto all good from the presence of One mighty and powerful. To this testifieth every atom, but the people are in evident veiling.
BH09529: This is a Book sent down by the All-Merciful…
In His Name, the One Sanctified from All Mention!
This is a Book sent down by the All-Merciful, and verily it is the path of God for all who are in the heavens and on earth. Blessed is he who hath turned unto it; he is truly of the people of this glorious Scene. They who have remained heedless of it are assuredly among the lost.
We have sent down the verses and made manifest the clear proofs, yet the people remain behind an obvious veil. The Cause of God hath appeared and the earth hath been illumined with the light of God, the Lord of all worlds.
Say: O people! Follow not your desires; turn ye to the horizon of Revelation. This is better for you, did ye but know it.
We give thee glad tidings of My remembrance and recite unto thee My verses and draw thee nigh unto My mighty Kingdom. Whoso hath attained unto the Most Great Steadfastness hath attained unto this glorious station.
BH09490: The horizon of utterance hath dawned forth…
He is the Most Great, the Most Holy!
The horizon of utterance hath dawned forth from the Sun of My remembrance, the Mighty, the Inaccessible. We make mention of him who hath turned towards the Countenance, and counsel him with that whereby the Cause of God, the Lord of all worlds, may be uplifted. How many a servant hath turned away from the Countenance, having followed the vain imaginings of those who disbelieved in God, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy. Erelong shall he bewail his own self and repent of that which he wrought in these fleeting days. Verily thy Lord is the All-Informed. We have manifested the Cause and sent down the verses, yet the people are in evident doubt. Blessed art thou, inasmuch as the Countenance of the Ancient One hath turned towards thee, and hath sent down unto thee from the Most Great Prison that which consoleth the eyes of them that know. And praise be to God, the Lord of all worlds.
BH09232: God and His Messengers and His chosen ones bear…
He is the Speaker, the All-Knowing!
God and His Messengers and His chosen ones bear witness that there is no God but Him, the Mighty, the All-Bestowing. The Pen hath proclaimed that there is no God but Him, the All-Powerful, the All-Knowing. By God’s life! They desired naught but My Self, and it moveth by My Name, the All-Encompassing over all horizons.
Among the people is he who clingeth to idle fancy, turning away from God, the Lord of all mankind, and among them is he who is seized by the attraction of the verses in such wise that he hath turned unto the Most Exalted Horizon and hath said:
“Praise be unto Thee, O Lord of all names, for having caused me to speak Thy praise after Thou didst make me to know Thy Manifestation, dawning from the horizon of creation.”
Thus doth the Wronged One make mention that thou mayest thank thy Lord and remember Him throughout the nights and days.
BH09534: This is a Book sent down by the Wronged…
He is the One dawning from the horizon of the world.
This is a Book sent down by the Wronged One in the Most Great Prison to him who hath believed in God, the Lord of eternity.
We make mention of him who maketh mention of Us, and give glad-tidings unto him who hath turned towards God, the Lord of all nations. He that heareth My verses is indeed the hearing one, and he that turneth unto My horizon is the seeing one, and he that drinketh the choice wine of revelation from the hands of bounty is the mighty one.
Blessed is he who hath turned towards God and sought the Intended One while He was in His Most Great Prison. Thus have We made mention of thee and revealed for thee that which hath attracted the world. Happy is he who hath attained unto My days, and blessed is he who hath drunk the living waters of immortality from this Pen.
BH09429: My tongue, my heart, my innermost being, my limbs…
He is the Mighty, the All-Wise!
My tongue, my heart, my innermost being, my limbs, my veins and my very hairs bear witness that verily He is God, the Lord of all worlds. To this testifieth that which hath been sent down in His Manifest Book.
Verily he who hath borne witness to that which God hath testified is accounted among them that are nigh unto God in a luminous Book. And he who hath attained unto the fragrances of these days is assuredly among the denizens of Paradise in My Preserved Tablet.
We have made manifest the Point and have expounded it until there appeared books which none can reckon save the All-Knowing. Whoso hath gained knowledge of them hath gained knowledge through the power of God and His sovereignty which overshadoweth all who are in the heavens and on earth.
When thou hearest the Call, render thanks unto thy Lord, the All-Informed.
BH09215: This is the day when human knowledge and understanding…
In the Name of the one true God!
This is the day when human knowledge and understanding must come into being in the world of existence. Man is like unto a precious sword: as long as it remaineth concealed in the sheath no one knoweth its excellence and beauty and its precious nature, for it is concealed and veiled from sight. In like manner, until man’s humanity becometh manifest his worth remaineth unknown.
We beseech God to bring forth all from the sheaths of self and passion, that the essence of each one may become evident and manifest before the jewelers.
Ye must strive, God willing, to drink from the choice wine of inner meanings and to gaze toward the supreme horizon. Verily He is the All-Powerful, the Bestower, the Gracious.
BH09538: A Book which hath been honored with the breezes…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Glorious
A Book which hath been honored with the breezes of Revelation, and which the Best-Beloved of the world hath desired to send unto one of His handmaidens who hath immersed herself in the ocean of faith and turned unto God on a day whereon most of the divines and most of the handmaidens have turned away. To this the Most Exalted Pen beareth witness, and He, verily, is the True One, the Faithful.
O My handmaiden! Rejoice thou in My remembrance, for it is a sun that hath shone forth from the horizon of the heaven of My loving-kindness. Verily, thy Lord is the Mighty, the All-Praised. Be thou not grieved at anything, for He is with you, beholding from His Most Glorious Horizon. Thus hath the matter been decreed in a perspicuous Book. The glory of God rest upon thee and upon those who have inhaled the fragrance of the Divine Raiment and believed in God, the Single, the All-Informed.
BH09260: We make mention of him who hath acknowledged…
He is the Mighty, the Great!
We make mention of him who hath acknowledged that which the Tongue of Grandeur hath spoken when He was established upon the throne of His Most Great Name. We give glad-tidings unto them that have believed of the good-pleasure of God and His nearness, and We acquaint them with His straight and manifest path.
Whoso hath turned unto Him hath indeed attained salvation, and he that hath turned away is assuredly among the perishing ones. By God’s life! All that hath been created on earth shall profit him not. Unto this doth every knowing and perceiving one bear witness.
O Javad! Hold thou fast, under all conditions, to the Crimson Cord which hath appeared from the seat of thy Lord, the All-Knowing, the All-Informed.
Say: O my God! I beseech Thee by it to make me steadfast in this Cause whereby every idolator hath wailed, every heedless one hath cried out, and every ignorant one far removed hath been sorely troubled.
BH09410: The handmaidens of God must in this day engage…
In the Name of the one true God
The handmaidens of God must in this day engage themselves with absolute sanctity and purity in the utterance of the praise of the Beloved of all creation. They should regard all save the Truth as non-existent and lost.
Whosoever hath in this day attained the love of God hath attained unto all good and is the possessor of all that is desired. Strive that with the aid of the True One this sublime station may be preserved by you in His Name.
Glory be upon you and upon all the handmaidens who have believed in God, the Single, the All-Informed.
BH09282: O Hasan! Praise be to God that through divine…
In the Name of the one true God!
O Hasan! Praise be to God that through divine grace thou hast drunk from the ocean of mystic knowledge and turned thy face toward the highest horizon. Through the might of God and the power of the eternal Sovereign, thou must, God willing, remain occupied with His remembrance in all conditions, that perchance those who thirst in the wilderness of idle fancies may drink from the heavenly stream of the All-Merciful and attain unto the breezes of the Day of God.
For every atom among the atoms of contingent beings a portion hath been ordained and a share hath been established in the Book of God. How excellent is the state of the one who hath arisen at the mention of the Friend, who hath taken and drunk the water of life from the hand of His bounty.
We beseech God to assist thee and cause thee to speak forth the praise of the Wronged One Who speaketh from this exalted, mighty and sublime station.
BH09253: We make mention of thee when thy letter was…
He is the Most Ancient, the Most Generous!
We make mention of thee when thy letter was present before the Throne, that thou mayest read and be of the thankful ones.
The world hath been illumined by the lights of thy Lord’s countenance, yet most of the people are in manifest darkness. They have cast the light behind their backs, having followed every remote oppressor—those who lay claim to knowledge without any proof from God and who pronounce judgment against His loved ones throughout months and years. Through them corruption hath encompassed the land and sea, as attesteth the Preserved Tablet in His presence.
They have followed their desires and cast aside the Book of God—thus doth the All-Informed inform thee. Shun them and take refuge in God from their evil. He verily protecteth whom He willeth through His sovereign might. He is, in truth, the Powerful, the All-Wise.
BH09530: A Book which the Single, the One, hath sent…
He is the All-Merciful, the Most Merciful
A Book which the Single, the One, hath sent down unto His servant who hath been named Muhammad, that he may speak forth the remembrance of God and His praise in these days wherein the standard of tyranny hath been raised up and the banner of justice hath been lowered through that which the hands of the oppressors have wrought. A number of stars have set from the horizons of the heavens of thy Lord’s knowledge, the All-Wise. O Muhammad! Muhammad, the Messenger of God, hath lamented in the most exalted station, and then the angels of the Throne in this noble station. He hath seized the oppressor through His sovereignty and He will seize those who followed him. Verily thy Lord is the Almighty, the Powerful. Rejoice thou in this Tablet, for it hath been sent down from before One Who is All-High, Most Great. Praise be to God, the Lord of the Worlds.
BH09723: This is the Day of Revelation, and the Ancient…
In the Name of the One True God, the Compassionate!
This is the Day of Revelation, and the Ancient Beauty calls out to the peoples of the world from the Dawning-Place of the Most Great Name, and summons them to the Source of Divine Revelation and the Dayspring of Grace, which is the Truth Itself. Blessed are they who have attained unto this most great bounty!
Praise ye the one true God, Who hath, on this triumphant day, bestowed upon you from His bounteous hand the waters of everlasting life. He is the Bestower, the All-Seeing, the All-Hearing, and He is powerful and mighty over all things.
This Wronged One counsels you to manifest praiseworthy characteristics and to remain steadfast in the Cause, for mighty indeed is God’s Cause. Hold fast unto it and place your trust in God, the Lord of all the worlds.
BH09251: In His Most Ancient Name
In His Most Ancient Name
We left the House, proceeding toward the garden, and on the way We encountered servants who had believed in God, the Single, the All-Informed. There accompanied Us a certain number of those who had acknowledged what God had testified in His Noble Book. We journeyed until We entered the place and drank Chinese tea, and We said: “Praise be to Thee, O God of the worlds!” Those who were with Me remained around Me without sleep. When morning breathed forth, they drank tea and proceeded to the city by command of One mighty and knowing. We arose through God’s might and grace, took up the pen, and revealed unto thee this Clear Book. When thou attainest unto it, be thankful and say: “Praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds!”
BH09357: My remembrance is among My servants that it might…
He is the All-Wise!
My remembrance is among My servants that it might draw them to My Kingdom, and I am the All-Remembering, the All-Knowing. My call is among My creation that it might bring them near to My dominion, and I am the Manifest Caller. My Book is among My creatures that it might make known to them My path, and I am the Preserved Book. My Tablet is among My chosen ones that it might give them glad tidings of My paradise, and I am the Great Tablet wherein hath been inscribed by the Finger of Power that which none knoweth save God, the Lord of all worlds. O concourse of creation! Take hold of the Book of God with might, then with power from His presence. Verily, He is the Ruler over whatsoever He willeth. Thus hath the door of utterance been opened with the key of My Name, the All-Merciful, that ye might be among those who render thanks. Remember God, thy Lord, at all times and say: Praise be unto Thee, O Master of the mystics.
BH09450: We make mention of God, the Goal of all…
He is the One Who standeth through His own Name, the Self-Subsisting, at all times.
We make mention of God, the Goal of all worlds.
In all days doth move the Pen of the Lord of all names that hearts may be attracted by its traces, and in every night doth speak the tongue of Revelation that perchance men may attain certitude through God’s verses. The very rock hath testified to the Lord of all creation, yet the people understand not.
By My life! The heart findeth no rest save through that which attracteth it to the verses of its Lord, and the spirit soareth in its longing to attain His presence, and the tongue is never stilled from the remembrance of God, the All-Compelling, the Self-Subsisting.
We have manifested the Cause and sent down the verses—blessed are they who hear! We have illumined the horizon of utterance with the sun of thy Lord’s remembrance, the Most Merciful, that thou mayest give thanks unto God, the Lord of the seen and the unseen.
BH09517: Say: O Lord of existence, Who art seated upon…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Great, the Most Exalted, the Most Glorious
Say: O Lord of existence, Who art seated upon the Throne of Manifestation! I beseech Thee by that Name through which Thou didst reveal Thyself unto Moses on Sinai and unto the Spirit in the wilderness of Appearance, to send down upon me and upon Thy loved ones that which beseemeth the cloud of Thy bounty and the heaven of Thy generosity. O Lord! I am he who hath laid fast hold on the cord of Thy bestowal and clung to the hem of Thy mercy. I beseech Thee not to withhold from me that which Thou hast ordained for them who have suffered martyrdom in Thy path and have endured tribulations for love of Thee. Thou art He Who ruleth as He pleaseth and ordaineth what He willeth. The veils of the world cannot hinder Thee, nor can the clamor of the nations. There is none other God but Thee, the All-Forgiving, the All-Bountiful.
BH09565: A written Tablet inscribed by the Finger of Power…
He is the Manifest, the Hidden
A written Tablet inscribed by the Finger of Power. Blessed are they who recognize that it is a drop from the ocean of utterance, as attested by My Preserved Tablet.
Verily We make mention of the Tablet at times as the Written and at other times as the Preserved, and they are one and the same station, and it is the Sun shining from the horizon of the heaven of the knowledge of your Lord, the Protector, the Self-Subsisting.
Say: Every goodly name mentioned in the Book verifies this Most Great, this Witnessed Remembrance. The Books of the Bayan and He Who revealed them in truth bear witness to this, did ye but know.
Were this Book to be interpreted throughout all eternity, it would never end—to this beareth witness the Sovereign of the Kingdom.
From this most exalted station We send Our blessings upon the faces of those who have turned towards the Most Glorious Horizon and have quaffed My sealed wine.
BH09576: We hear Our very hair calling out and testifying…
He is the One manifest in the Kingdom!
We hear Our very hair calling out and testifying:
“By God! The Most Great Countenance has appeared and the Lord of Destiny calls humanity and summons them to His luminous station.”
And we hear from Our very sight that which hath attracted the heart of the world, yet the people remain in thick veils.
Thou knowest, O my God, that all my limbs and members remember Thee with a remembrance none can know save those endowed with true knowledge and insight, who proclaim that there is no God but He, the All-Knowing, the All-Informed.
Blessed art thou for having turned to My Countenance and drawn near to God, the Lord of all worlds. He remembers whoever turns to Him and draws near to whoever approaches Him. He is indeed the Single, the One, the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.
Praise be to God, the Lord of all worlds.
BH09768: In My Name, the Most Exalted, the Most Glorious
In My Name, the Most Exalted, the Most Glorious
We make mention of thee as a favor from Us, and verily I am the All-Remembering, the All-Knowing. Say: O suns of My names and manifestations of My love! Hearken unto My call, then act according to that which ye have been commanded in My perspicuous Book. It behooveth each one of you to be as a sun in the heaven of faithfulness, that there may appear from him that which will comfort the hearts of them that have recognized the truth. Verily, he who hath recognized the station of faithfulness and adorned himself with its ornament, he is indeed of the people of this noble station. The denizens of the Kingdom will offer prayers for him, from the presence of One mighty and wise. Give unto the people the glad-tidings of that which hath been revealed in this Tablet, and remind them of this mighty Cause. The glory be upon thee from God, the Lord of all worlds.
BH10122: O Wahhab! The All-Bountiful calls thee and gives thee…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Great.
O Wahhab! The All-Bountiful calls thee and gives thee glad tidings through this Remembrance whereby the Tablets have been adorned. Bear thou witness even as God hath testified before the creation of all things that there is none other God but Him, and that He Who speaketh is verily the One intended from all eternity.
Verily he who hath recognized this Cause and drunk the choice wine of steadfastness—none among all created things can be his equal. He around Whom the Book revolves testifieth to this. Thus hath the Tongue of Grandeur spoken forth in the Most Great Prison.
Blessed is he who hath heard and hath seen the Dayspring of Lights. The glory of God rest upon thee and upon thy father who hath ascended to the Supreme Companion and upon thy mother, from God, the Lord of all worlds.
BH09963: Say: Glory be to Thee, O God of Names…
In His Name, the Most Holy, the Most Great!
Say: Glory be to Thee, O God of Names and Creator of heaven! Thou seest me bewildered in Thy praise and glorification. I know with certainty that no description can ever reach unto Thee, and no mention beside Thee befits Thy presence. To this bear witness Thy Scriptures, Thy Scrolls, Thy Books and Thy Tablets. When Thy grace encompassed all created things and Thy mercy pervaded all contingent beings, Thou didst permit Thy servants to make mention of Thee and describe Thee, and through Thy generosity and favors, Thou didst accept their remembrances. O Lord! I beseech Thee by Thy Most Exalted Word, which Thou hast made the Dayspring of Thy knowledge, to ordain for us the best of what lieth with Thee and to strengthen us in that which Thou hast willed for us through Thy bounty. Verily, Thou art the Almighty, the Most Exalted, the Most High, the Most Great.
BH10000: O my God! Praise be unto Thee for having…
He is the Ever-Present, the All-Seeing
O my God! Praise be unto Thee for having created me, revealed me, given me to drink, nourished me, reared me, and caused me to know Thee, until Thou didst make me turn toward the horizon of Thy oneness and the Kaaba of Thy presence on a day wherein the tribes of the earth did lament. I testify, O my God, that Thou hast not dealt with me save in a manner befitting Thy glory, Thy generosity and Thy favors, and that I have not acted save in ways that I would be ashamed to mention before the court of Thy Manifestation. I beseech Thee, O my Lord, by this Day wherein the morn of Thy grace did breathe and the sun of Thy loving-kindness did shine forth, to ordain for Thy chosen ones every good thing in Thy Book. Verily, Thou art the Almighty, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
BH09841: Glorified be He Who hath spoken and caused all…
He is sanctified from all name and mention
Glorified be He Who hath spoken and caused all things to speak that there is none other God but Him, the Almighty, the Self-Subsisting.
The horizon of the world hath been illumined by the Sun of My Most Great Name, yet most of the people perceive not. The verses have filled all regions, yet the people recognize not. The atoms have testified to the Revealer of verses, yet the people hear not. My sweetest call hath been raised between earth and heaven. Blessed is the hearing ear that hath heard, and the face that hath turned unto God, the Lord of Lords.
Thus have We remembered thee as a favor from Our presence that thou mayest thank thy Lord, the Mighty, the Loving.
BH09982: This is a Book which the All-Merciful hath sent…
He is the Summoner between the heavens and the earth!
This is a Book which the All-Merciful hath sent down from the heaven of Will as a token of His grace, and verily I am the All-Bountiful.
This is a remembrance from Us unto him who hath attained the lights of the Kingdom when the Lord of the Realms of Might came with manifest sovereignty, that he may arise to serve his Lord and make mention of Him in such wise as to cause the Tree to soar and every lofty mountain to crumble.
Say: O people! By God the Truth, the appointed time is fulfilled and the All-Bestowing One is come, through Whose remembrance every book and scroll and preserved tablet hath been adorned. Thus hath the ocean of knowledge surged and the fragrance of the garment wafted.
If thou hast found it, say: Praise be unto Thee, O God of the worlds!
BH09775: Verily We hear at this hour the Call…
He is the Most Glorious, the Most Luminous!
Verily We hear at this hour the Call which hath been raised betwixt earth and heaven, as though the Caller were God, the Lord of all worlds. And when We turned toward it with Our most pure hearing, We heard it say:
“O concourse of humanity! By God, the Most Great Spectacle hath appeared, and God hath made it the seat of His mighty Throne. O people of the realm of possibility! The All-Merciful hath appeared with clear proof—turn ye unto Him and be not of the heedless ones.”
We have mentioned unto thee that which We heard through Our Name, the Self-Subsisting, Who is this truthful Speaker, that thou mayest give praise and thanks unto Him Who created thee and caused thee to know this luminous Day.
The glory be upon the people of glory from God, the Mighty, the Beautiful.
BH09745: Hearken unto what he who associated partners with God…
He is the One manifest in the Kingdom
Hearken unto what he who associated partners with God said after We sheltered him beneath the shade of the Tree and protected him through My sovereignty that prevails over the worlds. By God’s life! He pronounced unjust judgment against those whom he should have served, then uttered that which no idolater had ever uttered before. His likeness is as the spotted snake that both bites and hisses. Verily thy Lord is the All-Knowing, the All-Informed.
Give thanks unto God for having attained unto His Most Great Remembrance and for His revelation unto thee of this wondrous Tablet. Let not the might of the world frighten thee, nor the utterances of any deluded one cause thee grief. Hold fast unto God in all conditions and cling to His luminous hem.
BH09933: Every fair-minded one hath testified to that which thou…
He is the All-Seeing, the All-Hearing!
Every fair-minded one hath testified to that which thou hast borne in the path of God, the Lord of Creation. Those who have been endowed with insight from God bear witness to that which God hath testified in the Book. They have prospered who have not been prevented by ornaments from God, the Cleaver of the Dawn.
We have turned from this Most Exalted Station toward thee and found thee steadfast in the love of God, the Lord of creation. We have, therefore, made mention of thee and revealed for thee that which rejoiceth the hearts of them that are endued with understanding.
Didst thou but know, with true knowledge, that which We have mentioned for thee, thou wouldst rejoice and make mention of thy Lord at all times.
BH10052: O Scions of that House! Verily, there hath come…
He is the Consoler
O Scions of that House! Verily, there hath come upon you in the path of God that which came upon the descendants of the Apostle and their women and children in the Land of Taff [Karbila] and elsewhere. Be ye confident of the grace of God and of His mercy. He is, verily, with you in every world of His worlds, and He is the Ever-Watchful, the Ever-Present, the All-Seeing. Woe unto those who wronged you and slew you and pillaged your possessions. By My life, they are in manifest loss. Ere long the gales of chastisement will beat upon them from every side. Verily, He is the All-Informed, the All-Knowing. Put your trust in God and say: ʿWell is it with us, and blessed are we for that which hath come upon us in His straight Path. Praise be to God, the Lord of all worlds
BH09990: This is a Book which judgeth with truth…
In the Name of Him Who holds sway over all who are in creation!
This is a Book which judgeth with truth, and verily it is a manifest Book, set forth from that Book which none hath known save God, the Lord of the worlds. Verily it is a Book inscribed by His Most Exalted Pen, wherein is recorded every wise command.
Say: O people, turn with radiant faces unto the Dayspring of your Lord’s decree, the All-Knowing, the All-Informed. By God’s life! The Concourse on High pray for them that have turned unto Him—to this doth this perspicuous Tablet bear witness.
When thou hast attained unto the waves of the Most Great Ocean and drunk the Kawthar of revelation from the utterance of thy Lord, the All-Bountiful, arise to serve thy Lord, then make mention of Him with wisdom and utterance. Verily thy Lord, He is the Trusted Teacher.
BH09975: Say: Praise be to Thee, O Beloved of my…
He is the Most Generous, the Most Glorious!
Say: Praise be to Thee, O Beloved of my heart and Purpose of my innermost being! I beseech Thee by the Sovereign of Names through Whom Thou didst subdue the kingdoms of creation, that Thou write down for me what Thou hast written down for Thy handmaidens who have turned to the choice wine of Thy Revelation and circled round Thy throne.
O my Lord! I confess that no deed hath appeared from me worthy of mention in Thy days. I beseech Thee to send upon my transgressions the winds of Thy forgiveness and the breezes of Thy pardon. Verily Thou art the Almighty Whom nothing whatsoever in the earth can frustrate, and Thou are the Ruler Who doeth as He pleaseth, through Thy Name, the All-Subduing, the Sovereign over all the worlds.
BH10374: A Book sent down by the Most Merciful…
He is the Caller in God
A Book sent down by the Most Merciful to him who hath believed in God when every possessor of knowledge denied, save whom God, the Lord of the hereafter and the former times, and the King of the throne and earth, willeth. He, verily, is the All-Knowing, the All-Informed. Verily He calleth unto His servant who hath turned unto Him and giveth him glad tidings through a Tablet that hath shone forth from the horizon of the utterance of his Lord, the Almighty. Read thou My verses and glorify the praise of thy Lord at all times. Thus hath God adorned thee with the ornament of His wondrous remembrance. Glory be upon the people of glory who bow down before none save the countenance of God, the Lord of all worlds.
BH10355: Say: I praise Thee, O my God, for having…
In the Name of the Most Unapproachable, the Most Glorious
Say: I praise Thee, O my God, for having cast upon me Thy Word, and made known to me Thy proof, and given me to drink from the Kawthar of Thy love, and taught me the ways of Thy favors, and shown me the manifestations of the lights of Thy Days which Thou didst announce in Thy Scriptures and didst give glad tidings of in Thy Books and Thy Tablets. O Lord! Having made me recognize Thee, deny me not through Thy bounty, for verily the Generous One disappointeth not His suppliants, and the Merciful One depriveth not those who hope in Him. I beseech Thee, O Sovereign of Names and Ruler of earth and heaven, to make me in all conditions steadfast in Thy Cause and holding fast to the cord of Thy good-pleasure. Verily Thou art the Mighty, the Beloved.
BH10356: In Thy Name, O Thou Who art the Lord…
In Thy Name, O Thou Who art the Lord of the world
I beseech Thee by the Most Great Name through which every misbeliever lamented, and every denier cried out, and every infidel perished, to make me of those who have drunk the wine of revelation from the hand of Thy bounty and who have soared on the wings of certitude to the heaven of Thy Cause.
O Lord! Aid Thy loved ones to remember and praise Thee, then ordain for them from Thy generosity that which will profit them in Thy worlds.
Verily Thou art He to Whose Self the tongue of all in the Kingdom hath testified even as Thou didst testify to Thine Own Self. Verily Thou art the Almighty, the Powerful.
BH10204: O servant of God! The Lord of Names calleth…
In the Name of the Self-Sufficing God
O servant of God! The Lord of Names calleth thee and saith:
“Blessed is the soul that hath endured tribulations in My path, and hath offered up its life for love of My Beauty and longing to attain My presence.”
The afflictions that are suffered in the path of Truth have been and ever shall be beloved. By My life! Its death is life, and its poison sweet honey.
Assuredly whatsoever hath befallen His loved ones in the path of the One True Friend hath not been, nor ever shall be, lost, and all hath been inscribed by the Most Exalted Pen in God’s Book.
Be thou confident and say: “Praise be unto Thee, O Lord of the worlds!”
BH10195: May you ever be occupied with the remembrance…
In the Name of the one true God!
May you ever be occupied with the remembrance of Truth, and drink and give to drink of the true Wine whose seal has been broken by the hand of power.
This blessed Day has been associated with Truth, and mention of it is recorded and inscribed in the divine Books. Blessed is the soul that has recognized and attained, and woe to the heedless!
Convey greetings from this Wronged One to the friends. God willing, may all gather in complete unity within the circle of recognition and be engaged in the remembrance of the Beloved of the worlds.
BH10372: O my God, my Beloved, my Helper and my…
He is the Most Great, the Most Ancient
O my God, my Beloved, my Helper and my Sustainer! How many days have I heard Thy mention and Thy call, yet failed to act in a manner befitting Thy days. Whenever I reflect upon myself, my grief and regret and sighs and shame increase.
I beseech Thee, O Thou through Whose Name the ocean of forgiveness surged and the fragrance of the garment of Thy Name, the All-Merciful, was diffused, to assist me in serving Thee and remembering Thee.
And I know with certainty that serving Thee is serving Thy chosen ones who have not preceded Thee in utterance and who act according to Thy command.
BH10392: Your call hath reached the hearing of Him Who…
In the name of the one true Friend
Your call hath reached the hearing of Him Who is the Lord of all names. Both your poetry and prose were beheld.
Blessed is the tongue that the oppressor’s might prevented not from the mention of God, and likewise blessed is the pen that spoke forth in praise of the true Sovereign.
Blessed art thou and blessed is thy father who believed in God on a day wherein trembling seized the dwellers of the earth, save whom God pleased—thy Lord, the Almighty, the All-Bountiful.
Rejoice thou in My remembrance of thee, for verily it shall profit thee and be with thee. Thy Lord, truly, is the All-Knowing, the All-Informed.
BH10197: Say: O people! By God, the Ocean hath appeared…
…Say: O people! By God, the Ocean hath appeared and upon it saileth the Ark of God. Take fast hold of it and follow not every heedless one who hath remained far from the ocean of knowledge. Be thou eloquent with wisdom, remembering with wisdom, and associating with wisdom. Thus hath commanded He Who is powerful over the Cause. Verily, the Cause is as heaven and wisdom is as the sun shining from its horizon. Blessed is he who hath turned unto them both together. He is assuredly of the people of Baha, and hath been inscribed by the Pen of Glory….
BH10373: Say: O Thou Beloved of the world…
He is the Most Holy
Say: O Thou Beloved of the world and the One remembered by the Greatest Name! I beseech Thee to ordain for Thy handmaidens that which will attract them to the horizon of Thy good-pleasure and provide them with the Kawthar of Thy verses. O Lord! I am Thy handmaiden and the daughter of Thy handmaiden. I have turned to Thee and have held fast to the cord of Thy bounty. Ordain for me that whereby faith may be preserved, for verily Thou art the All-Merciful. Neither the conditions of contingent beings nor the clamor of the followers of religions can prevent Thee. Thou doest what Thou willest and ordainest what Thou desirest. Verily, Thou art the Almighty, the All-Wise.
BH10427: O My handmaiden! Hearken thou unto My call. I…
In the Name of Him Who is the Ruler over all the world!
O My handmaiden! Hearken thou unto My call. I say: Glory be unto Thee, O Lord of Names, and praise be unto Thee, O Creator of Heaven! I beseech Thee by the light of Thy countenance and the fire of the Tree of Thy Cause not to deprive me of the glances of Thy favors, nor to shut me out from the ocean of Thy outpouring and the river of Thy grace.
O my Lord! I am a handmaiden who hath turned toward the heaven of Thy bounty and the horizon of Thy Manifestation. I beseech Thee by Thy Most Exalted Pen to ordain for me that which Thou hast ordained for Thy handmaidens who have believed in Thee and in Thy signs and who have circled round Thy throne. Thou art, verily, the All-Powerful, the All-Knowing.
BH10424: O my God, my Lord and my Support! I…
He is the Mighty, the All-Praised
O my God, my Lord and my Support! I beseech Thee by the lights of Thy countenance and by the manifestations of the Exponents of Thy Cause to enable me to recognize the Dawning-Place of Thy verses, the Dayspring of Thy revelation and the Manifestation of Thy Self.
O Lord! I am the ignorant one who hath sought the ocean of Thy knowledge, and I am the heedless one who hath turned toward the horizon of Thy recognition. I beseech Thee not to withhold from me the sun of Thy grace and the heaven of Thy generosity, and ordain for me that which shall profit me in all the worlds of Thy worlds.
Verily, Thou art the All-Witnessing, the All-Perceiving, the All-Hearing, the All-Seeing.
BH10702: O Lord of creation and Ruler over all lands!…
He is the One Who knoweth and remembereth
O Lord of creation and Ruler over all lands! I beseech Thee by the Name through which was raised the shrill voice of Thy Most Exalted Pen between earth and heaven, to ordain for Thy chosen ones that which will bring tranquility to their souls and gladness to their hearts.
O my Lord! Thou seest Thy loved ones in the hands of Thine enemies. I beseech Thee to decree for me and for them the good of this world and the next. Verily, Thou art the Omnipotent over what Thou willest, and Thou art indeed the Mighty, the Powerful.
BH10612: Thy petition hath been made mention…
In the Name of the Kind Friend!
Thy petition hath been made mention of in the Most Holy Court, and the Supreme Pen, in this most glorious and most exalted station, maketh mention of thee.
This is a station whereof the pens of the world and the tongues of the children of men are powerless to make mention. The Point of the Bayan hath said: The whole world existeth that it might attain unto but one word of His exalted utterances.
Now thou hast attained unto a Tablet—know thou this and be of them that render thanks. Verily, praise be unto God, the Lord of the worlds.
BH10595: Glorified art Thou, O Lord of all beings…
He is the Ruler by Right!
Glorified art Thou, O Lord of all beings and King of the throne and earth! I beseech Thee by the Name through which the trumpet was sounded and the dwellers of the graves arose, and through which Beauty was made manifest and the mountains were set in motion, to grant me the Kawthar of bounty from the hands of Thy favors and the choice wine of steadfastness through Thy grace and sovereignty. O my Lord! Assist me to serve Thy Cause and to arise for that whereby Thy Name may be exalted. Verily Thou art powerful over what Thou willest and Thou art the Protector, the Self-Subsisting.
BH10681: O God of earth and Creator of heaven! I…
He is the Expositor, the All-Knowing
O God of earth and Creator of heaven! I beseech Thee by the Name through which the ocean of Thy knowledge surged and the pearls of Thy wisdom appeared, to send down from the clouds of Thy mercy and the heaven of Thy Will that which will purify the earth from the defilement of every transgressor who hath disbelieved in Thee and in Thy signs. O my Lord! I am he who hath turned his face toward Thy countenance and set his face toward the horizon of Thy recognition. Ordain for me that which befitteth Thy generosity and bounty. Verily, Thou art the Bountiful, the Generous.
BH10594: Glory be unto Thee, O Lord of existence…
He is the Speaker from the prison
Glory be unto Thee, O Lord of existence and King of the seen and unseen!
I beseech Thee by this Day wherein the earth hath been illumined by the light of Thy countenance and the heaven by the splendor of Thy manifestation, to send down from the heaven of Thy decree that which will adorn the people of Thy kingdom with the ornament of Thy justice and sanctify them from whatsoever beseemeth not Thee and Thy days.
O my Lord! Ordain for me and for all who have turned unto Thee the good of all the worlds that are Thy worlds. Verily, Thou art the All-Powerful, the Almighty.
BH10864: Thy letter reached the Most Great Prison, attaining unto…
In the name of the one God!
Thy letter reached the Most Great Prison, attaining unto the lights of the countenance of the Ancient King, and that which was recorded therein was mentioned.
Praise be to God, thou hast been adorned with the embellishment of the recognition of the Beloved of all creation. Guard this blessed garment in His name, for thieves lie in wait in their ambush.
God protect us and you from the evil of those who have denied and oppressed and plundered and turned away. Verily He is the Mighty, the Powerful.
BH10861: In My Name, the Most Glorious
In My Name, the Most Glorious
Say: Praise be unto Thee, O Lord of all names, and I glorify and thank Thee, O Thou in Whose hand is the Kingdom of decree, for having taught me the way of Thy knowledge in Thy days, and having made me recognize Thy signs, and having shown me the horizon of Thy manifestation. O my Lord! I am a leaf among the leaves of the Tree of Thy Cause, which the winds of Thy will and the breezes of Thy revelation have stirred. I beseech Thee not to deprive me from the ocean of Thy bounty. Verily Thou art the Almighty, the Supreme, the Self-Subsisting.
BH11073: Glorified art Thou, O God of the land…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Great!
Glorified art Thou, O God of the land and whatsoever moveth thereon, and Lord of the sea and whatsoever swimmeth therein!
I beseech Thee by the Name through which the heaven of Thy Cause was raised up and the sun of Thy Will shone forth, to illumine Thy earth with the light of Thy justice and the radiance of Thy countenance.
Then ordain for Thy loved ones that which will make them independent of all else save Thee and draw them nigh unto Thee. Thou art, verily, the Almighty, the Powerful.
BH11213: O my God! O my God! Through the fire…
He is He
O my God! O my God! Through the fire of Thy love sleep hath fled from mine eyes. In the morning hours I call upon Thee, hoping for Thy boundless grace, and in the evening I turn to the horizon of Thy mercy, yearning for Thine ancient bounty. I call upon Thee by Thy name, the All-Merciful, the Most Compassionate.
BH11422: I testify to that which God hath testified…
I testify to that which God hath testified, that there is none other God but Him, the Supreme, the Self-Subsisting. This is a testimony that shall abide with thee, through the eternity of His Most Beautiful Names, from God, the Lord of the invisible and the visible.
