Volume 049: 1872–1873 1289–1290 A.H., Part III (4 of 4)
BH08234: The Most Great, the Most Glorious!
The Most Great, the Most Glorious!
Glorified be He Who hath sent down the verses and made them clear evidences for those who have turned toward the Face and said: “We believe in Thee, O Thou around Whom circle the proofs!” We testify that through Thee the proof hath been completed, and the evidence and argument circle at all times around the Glorious One.
O Hadi! Hearken unto the call from the Tree which hath been raised up in the name of thy Lord, the Most Glorious:
“Verily, there is none other God but I, the Almighty, the Unconstrained!”
Grieve not at what hath befallen thee. Be content with what God hath pleased and what He hath decreed in the Book. Turn with thy whole being unto God. Beware lest there appear from thee that which beseemeth not thy connection to Our Name through which We have delivered the Cause throughout the lands. Acquire My manners and My characteristics. By My life! Ye are under the gaze of your Lord, the Mighty, the All-Bestowing. It behoveth all to honor and exalt you purely for the sake of God, the Originator of creation. The glory be upon you from the Mighty, the All-Forgiving.
BH08239: Glory be to Thee, O my God! I beseech…
He is the Most Great, the Most Glorious
Glory be to Thee, O my God! I beseech Thee by Thy Name through which earthquakes seized all the tribes of the earth and the dwellers of the cities of creation were struck with terror, to protect Thy male and female servants beneath the shadow of Thy grace and favors, lest their desires prevent them from turning towards the Kaaba of Thy Cause and the Dawning-Place of Thy inspiration. Then ordain for each one of them that which befitteth Thy presence in Thy days and beseemeth Thy sovereignty. Verily, Thou art the Almighty over what Thou willest. Verily, Thou art the Protector, the Self-Subsisting.
O Lord! Have mercy upon every maidservant who hath turned unto Thee, heard Thy call, and responded to the Manifestation of Thy Self. Then write down for her what Thou hast written for Thy chosen ones and Thy loved ones. O Lord! Thou art the Generous, possessed of great bounty.
Thou doest what Thou willest by Thy command and decreest what Thou desirest by Thy sovereignty. There is no God but Thee, the Almighty, the Exalted, the Mighty, the Loving.
BH08189: A mention from Us unto those whom God hath…
In the Name of God, the Possessor of all things!
A mention from Us unto those whom God hath related to him who attained My presence, appeared before My throne, heard My call, and spoke My praise amongst My creatures, that they may be assured that He is verily the All-Merciful, the All-Compassionate. Nothing whatsoever escapeth His knowledge. He ordaineth what He willeth for whomsoever He pleaseth, and remembereth whom He desireth in His mighty, impregnable and wondrous Book. Rejoice in that ye have been mentioned by the Pen through which every wise command hath been revealed.
Grieve not for your brother, for he is in great joy. Rather, grief is for those who followed their desires in this world—they are indeed among the perishing ones. Be thou steadfast in the Cause through God’s might and power, in such wise that the utterance of no expounder nor the mention of any who make mention shall cause thee to slip. Thus hath thy Lord, the Ancient One, commanded thee.
The glory be upon you from the presence of One mighty and wise.
BH08304: Glorified be He Who hath ordained for His servant…
He is the Almighty
Glorified be He Who hath ordained for His servant such tribulations as none in all the worlds hath been decreed. He hath passed judgment upon Us as hath not been passed in the empire of the highest heavens. Twenty years have elapsed, and We have not found a moment of security. Each day renewed tribulations have descended upon Us, and thou thyself art witness to what I say. Each time I raised my head from my bed in the morning, I beheld a fresh calamity, as though it had lain in wait through the night until I should arise. Such was ordained in the preserved Tablets of imperishable holiness.
I thank Thee, O my God, for all of this with every truthful and mighty tongue. Praise be unto Thee, O my God, for having made us the targets of Thy decree. Verily Thou art the Well-Beloved in all that Thou desirest. And the Spirit be upon Thee and upon whosoever remembereth this Lonely One in his remote exile. 152
BH08242: Praise be to Thee, O Lord my God! I…
Praise be to Thee, O Lord my God! I implore Thee, by Thy Name which none hath befittingly recognized, and whose import no soul hath fathomed; I beseech Thee, by Him Who is the Fountain-Head of Thy Revelation and the Day-Spring of Thy signs, to make my heart to be a receptacle of Thy love and of remembrance of Thee. Knit it, then, to Thy most great Ocean, that from it may flow out the living waters of Thy wisdom and the crystal streams of Thy glorification and praise.
The limbs of my body testify to Thy unity, and the hair of my head declareth the power of Thy sovereignty and might. I have stood at the door of Thy grace with utter self-effacement and complete abnegation, and clung to the hem of Thy bounty, and fixed mine eyes upon the horizon of Thy gifts.
Do Thou destine for me, O my God, what becometh the greatness of Thy majesty, and assist me, by Thy strengthening grace, so to teach Thy Cause that the dead may speed out of their sepulchers, and rush forth towards Thee, trusting wholly in Thee, and fixing their gaze upon the orient of Thy Cause, and the dawning-place of Thy Revelation.
Thou, verily, art the Most Powerful, the Most High, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
BH08254: Glorified art Thou, O my God! Thou seest Thy…
In His Name, the Most Exalted, the Most Great!
Glorified art Thou, O my God! Thou seest Thy servants in the hands of those who have forgotten Thy remembrance and have removed themselves from the shore of Thy nearness, and Thou hearest the sighing of Thy loved ones in Thy lands and the cry of Thy chosen ones in Thy realms. I beseech Thee by Thy Name through which Thou hast gained ascendancy over all else, to send down from the heaven of Thy grace that which will purify Thy servants from the dross of self and passion, that all may turn toward the direction of Thy favors and face the Dayspring of Thy signs. O Lord! Aid Thy servants to recognize Thy Self and that which Thou hast willed through Thy power and sovereignty. Then enable them to act in accordance with what Thou hast commanded them in Thy Scriptures and Thy Tablets. Verily Thou art He Who hath ever been powerful over whatsoever Thou hast willed and will ever be even as Thou hast been from time immemorial. There is no God but Thee, the Most Exalted, the Powerful, the Single, the One, the Mighty, the All-Bountiful.
BH08262: The Most Holy, the Most Glorious! Glorified art Thou…
The Most Holy, the Most Glorious! Glorified art Thou, O my God! Thou seest Thy chosen servants in the hands of the wicked ones who have disbelieved in Thee and in Thy signs. O Thou in Whose hands is the kingdom of names! Thou hearest, O my God, the cry of them that cry out in their separation from Thee, and the lamentation of them that yearn for Thee in Thy lands.
Such is the extent of oppression that whenever anyone seeketh Thy presence, he is prevented from attaining unto the court of Thy mighty oneness, and whenever a soul turneth toward Thee, he is cast out by the idolaters who have denied the Manifestation of Thy Self.
I beseech Thee, O God of Names and Creator of heaven, to send down upon them that which will gladden their hearts and give peace to their beings. Thou knowest that the fire of separation cannot be quenched save by the waters of Thy reunion and presence, and their agitation cannot be stilled except by beholding Thy beauty.
I beseech Thee by Thy sovereignty established upon the throne to open before their faces, through Thy power, the gates of Thy presence, then cause them to enter before Thy countenance. Verily, Thou art the Almighty, the Exalted, the Mighty, the Wise.
BH08462: This is a Book for whosoever hath turned unto…
He is the Rememberer and the Remembered!
This is a Book for whosoever hath turned unto God, the Mighty, the Bestower. Behold naught save My luminous and exalted Beauty, and utter naught save My praise, if thou be of them that know. Praise beseemeth the Lord of Names, and remembrance this Supreme Remembrance, and tribulation the Dayspring of Decree—verily this resplendent Horizon.
Beware, O My loved ones, lest ye exchange that which ye possess for that which hath been ordained in the worlds. The love of God is greater than every good and more glorious than whatsoever hath been created on earth. Preserve it through My Name, the Mighty, the Wise.
Be ye brethren of purity amidst the concourse of creation and companions of fidelity in this manifest Cause. Ye are the mirrors of My attributes—polish your hearts from the rust of vain imaginings. Thus doth the Lord of all men command you, and He is the Commander, the All-Knowing.
Blessed is he who hath known My Self in My days and heard My call from this noble Prospect.
BH08465: This is a Book from Us unto thee…
In the Name of God, the Most Great!
This is a Book from Us unto thee, that the breathings of revelation may draw thee unto God, the Help in Peril, the Self-Subsisting. Turn unto God with thy heart, then make mention of Him amongst His servants, that from thee may be wafted the sweet fragrance of the remembrance of My Name, the Mighty, the Well-Beloved. Beware lest anything withhold thee from God, the Lord of all names. Leave aside all else and hold fast unto this Cord which hath been outstretched.
Be thankful unto thy Lord, inasmuch as thou hast been mentioned before the Throne, and that which shall gladden the eyes hath been revealed unto thee. Drink thou the living waters from the traces of thy Lord’s Pen, the All-Merciful, and say: Praise be unto Thee, O God of the seen and unseen!
We, while in prison, make mention of thee with pure intent before God, that thou mayest know that the mercy of thy Lord hath encompassed all created things and His bounty hath surrounded existence itself. Know thou the worth of this bounty which hath encompassed thee, then recite the verses of thy Lord. He shall assist thee in that which He desireth. He, verily, is the Truth, the Knower of things unseen.
BH08467: This is a book from Us to those who…
This is a book from Us to those who have attained today unto that which God desired for them and have quaffed the choice sealed wine which was unsealed by the finger of the might of their Lord, the Mighty, the Loving, that they might take the chalice once again and drink thereof time after time in remembrance of Me, despite those who have denied God, the Protector, the Self-Subsisting.
Rejoice in that which hath been sent down unto thee from the heaven of grace. Say: Praise be unto Thee, O God of the seen and the unseen! Those who are heedless this day—these know not. Erelong shall the breezes of chastisement seize them from every direction, and they shall not be helped.
Thus have We sent down unto thee from the heaven of the Tablet the rains of wisdom and utterance, that there might grow from thy heart the plant of certitude in thy Lord’s Cause, and that thou mayest be of those whom the tempests move not in the days of God and who remained steadfast in such wise that the tongue of the Kingdom and the dominion falls short of describing it.
BH08476: This is the Day of God, the All-Compelling…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Exalted, the Most Glorious
This is the Day of God, the All-Compelling, the Self-Subsisting. The Ancient Beauty hath seated Himself upon His most great throne, while the angels circle round about Him. They who were held back by vain imaginings are truly the worshippers of idols, though they perceive it not. Break the idols by the command of your Lord, the Lord of all mankind. Arise to assist the Cause of your Lord, the Mighty, the Loving. Say: He hath appeared in such wise that nothing in creation can prevent Him. He doeth what He willeth through His sovereignty from His presence. He is, in truth, the All-Knowing, the Knower of things unseen. O loved ones of God! Grieve not over the world and what hath befallen you in My path. Rather, behold what hath befallen this Wronged One. We have borne all tribulations for your salvation, as attesteth whosoever dwelleth in the realms of the seen and unseen. Put your trust in God, then remember your Lord, the All-Merciful. He is with you in all conditions. There is no God but Him, the Mighty, the Best-Beloved.
BH08889: Blessed art thou, O my handmaiden, for thou hast…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Glorious
Blessed art thou, O my handmaiden, for thou hast spoken My mention, found solace in My praise, turned toward the Dawning-Place of My Cause and the Dayspring of My Beauty, recognized My Manifestation, heard My call, and sought the stronghold of My protection and the pavilion of My cherished and impregnable love. Verily thy Lord heareth thy call and seeth thy condition. He, verily, is the All-Knowing, the All-Informed. Give thanks unto thy Lord for having turned toward thee the gaze of His loving-kindness. This, verily, is a great bounty. Grieve not over anything. Place thy trust in God under all conditions. He, verily, is the Mighty, the Near One. Thou art in the precincts of My mercy. God hath preferred thee above most of His creation. He, verily, hath power over all things. Blessed is she who, wearing a veil, hath believed. Woe unto him who, wearing a turban, hath turned away and opposed God, the Mighty, the Peerless One.
BH08907: North and South both vibrate to the call announcing…
In His Name, the Eternal, the Everlasting
North and South both vibrate to the call announcing Our Revelation. We can hear the voice of Mecca acclaiming: “All praise be to Thee, O Lord my God, the All-Glorious, for having wafted over me the breath redolent with the fragrance of Thy presence!” And from another direction the cry is raised from the Furthermost Mosque, saying: “All praise be to Thee for having quickened me with the breeze of Thy nearness after I was slain by separation from Thee, O Beloved of earth and heaven!” All things have today borne witness to this Revelation which hath shone forth from the horizon of the Unseen, save those who have clung to their desires, turning away from God, the Revealer of verses. O servant! Illumine thy heart with My remembrance and thy tongue with My praise. Beware lest the veils hinder thee—rend them asunder through My Name. Then remind the servants of this Light through which all lights have been illumined.
BH08673: O letter Jim! Rejoice thou in what hath been…
O letter Jim! Rejoice thou in what hath been revealed from the Pen of the Wronged One, and be thou of them that render thanks. That which thou didst send unto Him Who beareth My name, both thy poetry and prose, hath been presented before Our face. We beseech God that through thee He may bring order to scattered affairs and scatter abroad the pearls of the remembrance of His Name, the Mighty, the Wondrous. Grieve thou not over anything. Be as thou hast been in the remembrance of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy. Convey My greetings unto the loved ones who are there, and unto those who have attained and returned, and give them the glad-tidings of God’s good-pleasure and of a noble station. Hold thou fast unto wisdom in all things. This is what all have been commanded in this mighty Revelation. The glory rest upon thee and upon those who have stood firm in the Cause and whom the clamor of the idolaters hath not kept back from His love.
BH09024: Many a chilled heart, O my God, hath been…
Many a chilled heart, O my God, hath been set ablaze with the fire of Thy Cause, and many a slumberer hath been wakened by the sweetness of Thy voice. How many are the strangers who have sought shelter beneath the shadow of the tree of Thy oneness, and how numerous the thirsty ones who have panted after the fountain of Thy living waters in Thy days!
Blessed is he that hath set himself towards Thee, and hasted to attain the Day-Spring of the lights of Thy face. Blessed is he who with all his affections hath turned to the Dawning-Place of Thy Revelation and the Fountain-Head of Thine inspiration. Blessed is he that hath expended in Thy path what Thou didst bestow upon him through Thy bounty and favor. Blessed is he who, in his sore longing after Thee, hath cast away all else except Thyself. Blessed is he who hath enjoyed intimate communion with Thee, and rid himself of all attachment to any one save Thee.
I beseech Thee, O my Lord, by Him Who is Thy Name, Who, through the power of Thy sovereignty and might, hath risen above the horizon of His prison, to ordain for every one what becometh Thee and beseemeth Thine exaltation.
Thy might, in truth, is equal to all things.
BH08851: Glory be to Thee, O my God! The lamp…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Great, the Most Glorious
Glory be to Thee, O my God! The lamp hath been surrounded by the winds of hatred and animosity—where is the glass of Thy protection, O Protector of the worlds? And Thou seest the Dove in the talons of the workers of iniquity—where are the manifestations of Thy power, O Thou Who art powerful over the worlds? Thou seest the Wronged One amidst the hosts of tyranny and hypocrisy—where are the evidences of Thy might, O Thou Subduer of the worlds?
I beseech Thee, O Thou in Whose hand is the dominion of all things, to assist Thy loved ones and deliver them from the hands of the oppressors among Thy creatures and the wicked ones among Thy people. Then protect this lamp from the breath of those who are moved by their evil desires to arise to extinguish Thy light and mislead Thy creation.
O Lord! Seize them through Thy power, then suffice against their evil through Thy sovereignty. Verily Thou art He Whose power encompasseth all and Whose sovereignty is manifest, and Thou art powerful over all things.
BH09020: A book was present before the Divine Throne…
In His Name, the Most Exalted
A book was present before the Divine Throne and thy name was mentioned therein. Therefore this Tablet hath been written in reply and sent, that thou mayest inhale the fragrance of the garment of the All-Merciful from these revealed words. In this day it is incumbent upon all handmaidens to hold fast unto the cord of chastity and, in utmost sanctity and detachment, to occupy themselves with the mention of the Beloved. The remembrance of God is the polisher of hearts and the quickener of souls. All must, God willing, drink from the cup of detachment in the name of the Creator of innovation and occupy themselves with the remembrance of God in this luminous dawn. Praise be to the Sovereign of all creation that thou wert mentioned before His presence. However, thou must arise in a manner befitting this station, and that is to be sanctified from all else save God. Blessed are they that attain!
BH08846: Glory be to Thee, O my God! I beg…
He is the Most Ancient, the Most Mighty
Glory be to Thee, O my God! I beg of Thee by Thy name, the Most Merciful, to protect Thy servants and Thy handmaidens when the tempests of trials pass over them, and Thy manifold tests assail them. Enable them, then, O my God, so to seek refuge within the stronghold of Thy love and of Thy Revelation, that neither Thine adversaries nor the wicked doers among Thy servants, who have broken Thy Covenant and Thy Testament, and turned away most disdainfully from the Day-Spring of Thine Essence and the Revealer of Thy glory, may prevail against them.
They themselves, O my Lord, have waited at the door of Thy grace. Do Thou open it to their faces with the keys of Thy bountiful favors. Potent art Thou to do what Thou willest, and to ordain what Thou pleasest. These are the ones, O my Lord, who have set their faces towards Thee, and turned unto Thy habitation. Do with them, therefore, as becometh Thy mercy, which hath surpassed the worlds.
BH08866: The Most Pure, the Most Manifest, the Most Glorious!
The Most Pure, the Most Manifest, the Most Glorious!
The Sun of Glory was visible from behind the veil of abasement on the horizon of tribulation. We entered the prison and delivered the messages of thy Lord to the East and to the West, despite those who remained veiled behind the veil. Can the clouds of doubt conceal the Sun? No, by thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower! Can the signs of those who have disbelieved in the Revealer of verses hide it? No, by My Beauty, which hath appeared from the horizon of grandeur with manifest truth! Say: O people, abandon the mention of your own selves and hold fast unto this Remembrance which hath been raised in the heaven of the Cause. Whoso halteth in this Cause hath not believed in any of the Messengers—thus hath the matter been inscribed in the Tablet. Leave those who disbelieve to their vain imaginings, then stand firm in this Cause whereby the sun of revelation hath shone forth from a horizon illumined with the lights of the countenance.
BH08909: The Book of Dawn hath shone forth…
He is the Most Great, the Most Glorious
The Book of Dawn hath shone forth from the horizon of the Command and hath illumined all regions. This is the Day whereon all things proclaim: “The Kingdom belongeth unto God, the One, the Unconstrained.”
Rend asunder the veils of idle fancy by this white Hand which hath appeared from the Sleeve of grandeur and power. Is there any doubt in His sovereignty? Nay, by the Dawning-Place of the Unseen! Is there any end to His command? Nay, by the Lord of the Day of Mutual Calling!
Every stone hath quivered at the breeze of God, yet hearts remain in strange torpor, save those who have attained to that which hath flowed from this Ocean that hath encompassed all creation. They whom the wine of true knowledge hath intoxicated—these are they whom neither veils can hinder nor the might of those who have disbelieved in God, Who causeth the night and the day to succeed each other.
Make thou My love thy lamp, My remembrance thy companion, and My good-pleasure thine aim, O Lord of the Day of Reckoning.
BH08869: God testifieth that there is none other God but…
He is the Ever-Abiding, the All-Sufficing
God testifieth that there is none other God but Him. His are the most excellent names and the most exalted similitudes. He hath revealed Himself unto all created things through His Name, the One that overshadoweth all who are in earth and heaven. Thereupon, he who was drawn by the sweet savors of divine revelation turned towards Him, while every heedless doubter turned away. How many were the servants who lamented in separation, yet when the Covenant came and the hour of reunion drew nigh, they debarred themselves from attaining His presence and wandered in the wilderness of error. Do they behold the ocean and deny it, or are they blind? Say: For everything there is a sign in the Book. Among them are those who saw and denied, and those who were raised up blind on the Day of Resurrection. He, verily, is possessed of true vision who hath attained unto the lights of the countenance in his final return. Thus have We sent down the command and dispatched it unto thee with spirit and sweet fragrance.
BH08967: Say: O people, He cannot be known except through…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Glorious
Say: O people, He cannot be known except through Himself—behold Him with His own eyes! O followers of religions, the Tablets have been filled with this Remembrance, and through it God has counseled His servants, yet most people remain heedless. O My loved ones! By My life, from the first day I made Myself known to humanity, I was afflicted at the hands of the idolaters. The world was created for My sake, yet people remain in manifest darkness. How many houses were raised for My remembrance and adorned with My name, yet when I revealed Myself they barred Me from them—thus did their wretchedness overcome them, and today they are among the most lost. They spent what none can reckon save God to exalt My remembrance, yet when I came to them they denied God, the Lord of the worlds. Thus do We recount for you some of what befell Us, that you may learn and be among those who are endowed with insight.
BH08887: Well is it with thee for having cast away…
In the Name of God, the Lord of Names!
Well is it with thee for having cast away the Ocean of Names, turning instead to the Most Great Sea, each wave of which appeareth in the form of “There is none other God but Me, the Mighty, the All-Wise.” Give thanks unto God for having aided thee to turn unto Him and for having delivered thee through His sovereignty. He, verily, is the All-Knowing, the All-Powerful. Take thou the chalices of salvation in the name of Him Who causeth the dawn to break, then drink therefrom in My Name, the Mighty, the Luminous. Say: All praise be unto Thee, O my God, for having guided me unto the path of righteousness and for having caused me to turn toward Thee and to turn away from those who have denied Thy Self and rejected Thy proof. O Lord! Make me steadfast in Thy love and vocal in Thy remembrance, and ordain for me that which lieth concealed in the heaven of Thy bounty and is recorded in the tablets of Thy Command. Verily, Thou art the Almighty, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
BH08735: O Qamar! Thy letter hath come before the Most…
He is the One Who standeth over the Command
O Qamar! Thy letter hath come before the Most Great Scene, and that which was mentioned therein was observed. Praise be to God that thou hast attained to the love of the Beloved of the world and art remembering Him. Strive thou to remain adorned with this ornament at all times. Pain suffered in the love of the Beloved is desirable, and illness endured in His path is highly favored. The remembrance of Him hath ever been the healing of all ills, and His Name shall be the physician for all ailments. Grieve not over anything. Put thy trust in God, the Almighty, the Mighty, the Beloved. Then give thanks unto thy Lord for having sent down unto thee this praiseworthy Tablet. Can anything in all creation be compared with it? Nay, by thy Lord, the Protector, the Self-Subsisting! Hold fast unto the cord of His bounty—this will suffice thee in all that was and that shall be.
BH08976: The Most Holy, the Most Great, the Most Glorious
The Most Holy, the Most Great, the Most Glorious
The Book of God hath been manifest in the temple of man. Say: Verily it is the most great temple among the nations, which speaketh the truth and summoneth mankind unto a station illumined with the lights of the countenance. Follow not the deluded ones; follow rather him who commandeth you to justice, now that the Desired One hath come with a sovereignty that encompasseth all the worlds. Say: The acceptance of the people profiteth us not, even as their rejection harmeth us not. We but remind them for the sake of God, and God is sufficient witness unto what I say. Blessed art thou for having attained unto the mention of this Most Great Remembrance and for having answered thy Lord when He came with a command that hath been mighty in truth from all eternity. Give thanks unto God for having aided thee to turn unto Him and enabled thee to speak forth this Remembrance which hath been recorded in the Tablets.
BH08916: Every soul has been given its book. Verily…
He is the Most High, the Most Glorious!
Every soul has been given its book. Verily, the wicked read one book, while the righteous read this Perspicuous Book. We sent down the Bayan and made manifest the Hour in the temple of man. Thereupon all who are in the heavens and earth were terror-stricken, save those who were caught up by the breathings of grace from God, the Mighty, the Bountiful. We made the first Hour a figure of this Most Great Hour. When it was blown into, all fell down in a swoon except whom thy Lord willed, and He decreed what He decreed. Then We blew into the Most Great Trump through this Great Name. Among the people are those whom We see struck down, and among them are those whom We see standing, bewildered, and among them are those who cast away the world, turning unto God, the Lord of all worlds. He is verily of the fish of this ocean and the people of this noble scene.
BH09121: O Hamid! Thy letter hath been presented before God…
In the Name of Him Who is the All-Compelling over all who are in the realm of possibilities!
O Hamid! Thy letter hath been presented before God, the King, the Mighty, the Peerless, and from it We perceived the fragrance of supplication and entreaty. Verily thy Lord is the All-Knowing, the All-Informed. Blessed art thou and blessed is he whose pen moveth in remembrance of God, thy Lord and the Lord of all worlds. When thou hast attained unto the Tablet of God, arise and take hold with the hand of certitude, then drink from the chalice of utterance the Kawthar of divine knowledge, for God hath ordained in each of its letters oceans of wisdom and explanation which none hath comprehended save His own Self, the All-Knowing, the All-Encompassing. Blessed art thou for having attained unto the presence of the Wronged One and for having drunk the choice wine of reunion. This, verily, is a manifest bounty. The glory be upon thee and upon those who have attained unto that which hath been ordained for them from One Who is All-Knowing, All-Wise.
BH08817: Glorified be He Who hath sent down the verses…
In the Name of the Ever-Abiding, the Eternal
Glorified be He Who hath sent down the verses and dispatched them unto whom He willeth. He, verily, is the Mighty, the Praiseworthy. Verily, in the opposition of kings and the rising up of subjects are signs for those who possess insight. Verily, in God’s proclamation of His Cause from within the prison are signs for those who are endowed with discernment. When We desired to proclaim the Cause, We created the new creation once again through this Name, which God hath made the Quickener of Names, that all may know that He is powerful over whatsoever He willeth. Neither adversities can prevent Him from that which He desireth, nor can the hosts of the oppressors frighten Him. They who fear this day are among the heedless. Put your trust in God, O people. Verily, He protecteth whomsoever He willeth through the hosts of the seen and the unseen. Beware lest ye overstep the bounds of wisdom. Thus hath the command been sent down in the Tablets and in this glorious Tablet. Act ye according to that which ye have been commanded by the All-Knowing, the All-Informed.
BH08744: O Muhajir! Though thou art far from the seat…
In His Name, the Most Exalted, the Most Glorious!
O Muhajir! Though thou art far from the seat of the Throne, yet thou art near. Nearness and remoteness in one sense are considered, and in another sense are not considered. However, spiritual nearness hath ever been and will continue to be beloved in the presence of the Self-Sufficient, the Most High. Praise be to God that thou hast drunk from the ocean of attainment and achieved the presence of the Manifestation of Glory and Majesty. Whatever befell thee in the path of God hath not been and will never be lost in His sight. The essence of all good hath been the meeting with God—praise be to God that thou wert honored with this distinction. The highest of all virtues hath been submission and contentment—through God’s grace thou wert adorned with that garment. Neither will your love be erased from the Tablet nor your mention from the Most Great Scene. Verily thy Lord is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
BH08801: A mention from the One Who is mentioned…
He is the One Who dominates all things
A mention from the One Who is mentioned to him who has attained unto the recognition of God on the Day when the All-Merciful came with a mercy that embraced all worlds. Say: Verily mention at times thou beholdest it in the Tablets, and at times it descendeth from the heaven of utterance, and at times it walketh in such wise that the Ancient Being appeared in the world in His hallowed and wondrous ornament. Say: All that proceedeth from Him, verily it is the Most Great Remembrance amidst the nations and the ornament of revelation unto all who are in the heavens and on earth. Through His Word is every thing realized and through His firm command is every measure established. Say: Regard Him not save as ye have been bidden in the Book. Fear God and be not of the ignorant ones. Thus hath the Manifestation of the Cause spoken. Blessed are they that hear.
BH09023: How many servants awaited My days, yet when…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Glorious
How many servants awaited My days, yet when the appointed time came, they denied the Lord of Names and Attributes! Say: O people, fear God and reject not the truth by what you possess. He hath come from the heaven of command—behold, O ye who are endowed with insight! Among the people are those who deny the Unseen, and among them are those who deny the Manifest One Who speaketh in all things, “There is none other God but Him, the Mighty, the Self-Subsisting.” Can they find any refuge for themselves? Nay, by Him Who causeth the rivers to flow! Say: None can find protection today save in God. Turn ye unto Him with your hearts, O ye who are possessed of vision! Blessed art thou for having drunk the choice wine of life from the hands of the bounty of thy Lord, the All-Merciful. This is yet another time—drink thou, and say: “Praise be unto Thee, O Thou by Whose remembrance the Tablets have been adorned!”
BH08671: O handmaid of God! Dost thou weep at…
He is the Most Ancient, the Most Ancient
O handmaid of God! Dost thou weep at the separation from thy son when the Son of God remembereth thee in truth? Be fair—does grief befit after that? No, by My life! Rejoice in this remembrance from which the fragrance of grace has been wafted between the heavens and the earth. It suffices you in truth. He is verily the Mighty, the Generous.
Be not disturbed regarding your son. He is in an exalted station. O my handmaid, be not grieved at the separation from your son. He is present in the abode of security and the seat of truth. As recompense for this separation, the Son of God and the Father of your son calls out to you. Say: What I have is sacrificed for Your sake, O Bestower of bounty to the worlds! Now is the time for thankfulness. Be grateful to your Ancient Lord.
BH08715: O maidservant of God! Your mention hath been made…
He is the Most Great, the Most Glorious
O maidservant of God! Your mention hath been made before the Throne, and from the Dawning-Place of the Divine Finger these revealed words were sent down and dispatched, that thou mayest arise with heart and soul to commemorate the Best-Beloved of the worlds, regard all else as non-existent, hold fast to His Name, the Self-Subsisting, and manifest goodly conduct and praiseworthy character, so that all handmaidens may witness in thee the signs of God. Every soul who in this Day manifesteth spiritual qualities is accounted among the people of Baha. Strive, while time remaineth, not to be deprived of the remembrance of God. Consider the all-encompassing favor, that the Ancient Beauty hath remembered thee in the Most Great Prison—and this through the grace that hath encompassed all the worlds, though He was indeed independent of all creation.
BH08979: The Most Holy, the Most Great
The Most Holy, the Most Great
The Book of Ha’ hath in truth been sent down in this eventide from the All-Glorious. Whoso possesseth a spirit from God, let him receive the Spirit of God from this Tablet which hath been inscribed by the Finger of Might. Blessed are the people of Baha who have settled themselves upon the Crimson Ark through this Name that encompasseth all the worlds. Whoso turneth unto that which is in the hands of men, he is not of the people of this station—to this beareth witness He Who is known by the Name of God. Turn ye unto that which hath come from the Truth, then behold with the eye of this station which hath been illumined by the lights of the Throne. Blessed is the soul that hath cast away vain imaginings and recognized the Known One through His Self-Subsisting Name. By My life, he hath been recorded among the triumphant ones in the Mother Book by the Pen of Glory.
BH09146: O Pen! Remind the peoples through this Most Great…
He is the Most Great, the Most Great
O Pen! Remind the peoples through this Most Great Name, that perchance they may turn towards the Qiblih of all who are in the heavens and on earth. Beware lest tribulations prevent thee from the remembrance of God, the Lord of all names, or the assault of the wicked deter thee from that which thou wast bidden by One Who is All-Knowing, All-Wise. Verily He protecteth whom He willeth and aideth those who have turned towards His luminous countenance. Then make mention of My servant who hath turned towards the Dayspring of his Lord’s Cause, the Mighty, the Great, that he may rejoice in thy remembrance of him and speak forth the praise of his Lord, the Powerful, the Almighty. When they gather together for the Cause, by this shall the hearts of the idolaters be scattered. Blessed is he who hath believed in God, and woe betide him who hath followed vain imaginings after the Sun of Certitude hath shone forth from this manifest Dawn. When thou hast attained unto the splendors of the Tablet say: Praise be unto Thee, O God of the worlds!
BH09062: This is a Book from God unto him who…
In the Name of the Most Ancient, the Most Great
This is a Book from God unto him who hath turned towards the Countenance, that he may rejoice and be of them that are thankful.
Glorified be He Who giveth to whomsoever He willeth whatsoever He pleaseth, and sendeth down upon whomsoever He desireth that whereby His mention shall be established in a preserved Tablet.
Rejoice, O people, in that your names have flowed from the Pen of Revelation—this is naught but a manifest grace.
Verily, in the prison We make mention of Our loved ones, that the fragrances of the utterance may draw them to the Kingdom of their Lord, the Mighty, the Generous.
Blessed is he who hath heard the Call and responded to his Ancient Lord. Woe unto him who hath been deprived of his Lord’s grace on this Day which hath encompassed all worlds.
Say: His mercy hath preceded all created things, yet the people are in manifest heedlessness. Turn ye unto it with your hearts. Thus hath it been sent down in the Tablet from the presence of One mighty and beautiful.
BH09042: Your letter was read and its contents were noted…
He is God, exalted be His glory
Your letter was read and its contents were noted and understood. Whatever befell you was for the sake of God, and its reward is with your Lord. After your departure, events occurred that became a source of trials for all. The purpose is that you shared with us in the tribulations. Blessed are they that bear, for it was in the path of God and His good-pleasure. God willing, you will engage in the mention of God with utmost wisdom, that perchance the saplings of humanity may be made verdant through the rain of divine mercy and attain unto the days of God. Convey to the emigrant lady the greetings of the Wronged One. We beseech God to assist her and protect her and make her a sign of steadfastness among His steadfast handmaidens. The Glory be upon you.
BH09029: I give Thee thanks, O my God…
I give Thee thanks, O my God, for that Thou hast made me to be a target for the darts of Thine adversaries in Thy path. I offer Thee most high praise, O Thou Who art the Knower of the seen and unseen and the Lord of all being, that Thou hast suffered me to be cast into prison for love of Thee, and caused me to quaff the cup of woe, that I may reveal Thy Cause and glorify Thy word.
Which of my tribulations am I to recount before Thy face, O my Lord? Am I to recite before Thee what in days of old befell me at the hands of the workers of iniquity among Thy creatures, or to describe the vexations which have compassed me about in these days for the sake of Thy good pleasure?
Thanks be to Thee, O Thou the Lord of all names; and glory be to Thee, O Maker of the heavens, for all that I have sustained in these days at the hands of such of Thy servants as have transgressed against Thee, and of Thy people that have dealt frowardly towards Thee.
Number us, we implore Thee, with them who have stood fast in Thy Cause until their souls finally winged their flight unto the heaven of Thy grace and the atmosphere of Thy loving-kindness. Thou art, verily, the Ever-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.
BH09026: The Tongue of Pre-existence speaks and says: O concourse…
He is the Most Great, the Most Holy
The Tongue of Pre-existence speaks and says: O concourse of the learned ones in the world! Your pens should become still when moves the Most Great Pen as it is between the fingers of your Lord, the Most High, the Most Great. Hold your tongues from that which the Tongue of Grandeur speaks—this behooveth you, if ye be of them that know. Cast aside the books, for the Book hath been sent down from the presence of One mighty, all-knowing. Say: Will ye precede Him in the Cause? Nay, by His Name, the Powerful over all the worlds! O Ali-before-Akbar! When thou hearest that which hath been raised from the direction of the Most Great Scene, turn with thy heart and say:
“O Ordainer of destiny and Guide of humanity! I beseech Thee by the Dawning-Place of Thy revelation and the Dayspring of Thy Cause to make me steadfast and upright in Thy love and to make me one who calls out Thy name among Thy heedless servants.”
BH09065: This is a Tablet revealed from the prison…
In the Name of Him Who was, and with Whom was naught else that was.
This is a Tablet revealed from the prison to him who hath turned unto the Countenance, that he may inhale the fragrance of God, the Mighty, the Powerful, the Inaccessible, and may know that He remembereth in tribulation those among the people of Baha who have sought Him. Verily, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
When thou didst perceive the fragrance of the garment and the breath of holiness, arise to make mention of Him amongst the worlds, that perchance they may recognize God their Lord and abandon what they possess of the whisperings of the satans. Hold thou fast in all conditions to the remembrance of thy Lord, the Self-Sufficient, the Most High. This is better for thee than the sovereignty of the heavens and earth. Be not grieved by what they have said and uttered. Soon shall they behold the recompense of their deeds. Verily thy Lord is the All-Knowing, the All-Informed. Despair not of the breezes of God and His mercy. He is with whomsoever hath desired Him and aideth him at all times.
BH08811: O Rayhan, may you speak, God willing…
He is the All-Knowing, the Ancient of Days
O Rayhan, may you speak, God willing, with the utmost joy and fragrance in praise of the All-Merciful, and become renowned and remembered for His love. Most dervishes wander in the valley of heedlessness, save a few who, through the grace of the All-Merciful, have in this spiritual springtime been adorned with luminous robes. Despite their claims to maturity and mystical knowledge, most of this group remain veiled. Blessed is he who has rent asunder the veils through the Name of the Lord of all men. Strive that you may gaze toward the most exalted horizon with a sanctified heart and a polished breast, and observe with the eye of the heart rather than the physical eye. Thus will you behold the Truth as One, Mighty and Self-Subsisting, and all else as existing through Him and sustained by Him. This is the Sun of true Divine Unity that has dawned from the horizon of the Divine Pen. Blessed are they who perceive with insight.
BH08627: The traces of thy pen were presented before…
He is the Most Great, the Most Great
The traces of thy pen were presented before and witnessed by the Lord of Eternity. Thou hadst made mention of being unlearned. All are and have been unlearned before the Ocean of knowledge, but thou art learned, for praise be to God, thou hast recognized the Known One and hast clung to the Self-Subsisting. Whosoever attaineth unto this station hath attained unto the source and beginning of all knowledge. All infinite letters branch forth from the Ocean of the Primal Point, and unto it do they return and find their end. And whoso knoweth the Point is enriched above the knowledge of aught else, and in the inmost of the inmost essence, whoso knoweth the Point knoweth that whereof the outer letters are composed and that which brancheth forth from them. Strive thou to remain firm upon the straight path of Truth. This sufficeth thee, if thou be of them that comprehend.
BH08739: O handmaiden of God! Your letter reached the presence…
He is the Most Holy
O handmaiden of God! Your letter reached the presence of the Beloved. Be confident, for His gaze of loving-kindness has ever been upon the weak and the strangers. God willing, may you be strong in the divine religion. In this case, you are accounted among the strong ones in God’s sight. Be not disheartened by exile—look to the exile of the Wronged One. The hardships of exile are easy to bear. We beseech God to assist His loved ones to protect you and those like you. As for what you asked about, its ruling was previously revealed. We have commanded the servant in attendance before the Throne to send you a copy thereof. Act accordingly and be among the thankful ones. Verily your Lord is the All-Knowing, the All-Informed. O handmaiden! Today there are many strong ones, mighty ones and wealthy ones on earth who are deprived due to heedlessness, while you are mentioned in the presence. This suffices you and your Ancient Lord.
BH08740: O handmaiden of God! I have not and will…
In the Name of the One Friend!
O handmaiden of God! I have not and will not acknowledge your loneliness, for if you were alone your letter would not have been presented before the Most Great Countenance. The presence of your letter testifies that you are with Someone, and under the shadow of Someone—but what Someone! The King of all beings and the Creator of earth and heaven. Had He not been with you, you would not have attained to His recognition nor would you have been speaking His praise. Since He is with you, all existence is with you. Had you been without Him, We would have acknowledged your loneliness. And you further mentioned estrangement—this too is your glory. The Truth has been afflicted in the land of exile, in the Most Great Prison. Thus in your estrangement you have followed the example of the Truth. This is a station of thankfulness, and it behooves you to be among the thankful ones.
BH08831: Glory be to Thee, O my God! I beseech…
In the name of God, the Bestower, the Munificent, the Forgiving, the Generous
Glory be to Thee, O my God! I beseech Thee by the heaven of Thy bounty, and the ocean of Thy giving, and the Sun which hath shone forth from the horizon of Thy favors, to ordain for this servant, who hath clung to the hem of Thy generosity, that which shall profit him in this world and the next. Verily, Thou art the All-Bountiful, the Most Generous. The signs of Thy generosity have encompassed all created things, and Thy mercy hath preceded all beings. I beseech Thee to write down for me that which shall reform my outward and inward affairs, and cause me in all conditions to hold fast unto Thee and to be detached from all else save Thee. Verily, Thou art the Powerful over whatsoever Thou willest. None can frustrate what Thou hast willed, and none can prevent what Thou hast decreed. Thou rulest by Thy sovereignty as Thou pleasest. There is no God but Thee, the Almighty, the Most Exalted, the All-Powerful.
BH08847: Glorified art Thou, O my God! Thou seest how…
He is the All-Highest, the Most Great
Glorified art Thou, O my God! Thou seest how the people have risen against me because I have conveyed to them that which Thou didst command me through Thy sovereignty. And whenever I remind them of that which would profit them, they cast it behind their backs and object to him through whom Thou hast spread abroad the scrolls of Thy decree and manifested the tablets of Thy Cause. I beseech Thee, O King of Kings and Merciful to the oppressed, to assist them to recognize that from which they are veiled. Verily Thou art the Mighty, the Powerful.
O Lord! Aid Thy loved ones and him whose name was mentioned before the Throne, that he may arise to celebrate Thy praise amongst Thy creatures and glorify Thee amidst Thy servants. O Lord! Suffer him not to be debarred from the river of Thy mercy. Give him to drink, at all times, from the living waters of immortality through the hands of Thy grace, that the sweet-scented breezes of Thy loving-kindness and the fragrances of Thy bestowals may take hold of him in all his days. Verily Thou art the Powerful over whatsoever Thou willest.
There is no God but Thee, the Mighty, the Generous.
BH08857: Glorified art Thou, O my God, Beloved of my…
In His Name, the One Who rules over all things!
Glorified art Thou, O my God, Beloved of my heart, Ultimate Goal of my desire and End of my hope! Thou hearest the sighing of those who long for Thee and beholdest the agitation in the hearts of the sincere ones in their separation and remoteness from Thee. I beseech Thee, O Quickener of bodies and Subduer of all creation, by Thy Most Great Name through which earthquakes have seized all the tribes, to give Thy loved ones and their children to drink from the wine of nearness to Thee and the choice wine of reunion with Thee. Then ordain for them that which will cause them to speak Thy praise, to arise in Thy service, and to turn in all conditions toward Thy luminous countenance shining between the heavens and the earth. O Lord! Aid Thy loved ones who dwell in the land of exile yearning for the breezes of union with Thee and the fragrances of nearness to Thee. Then illumine the eyes of their kindred by beholding the horizon of Thy favors. Verily, Thou art the Almighty, the Exalted, the Mighty, the All-Bountiful.
BH08861: Glorified art Thou, O Sender of the winds…
In the Name of God, the Most Holy, the Most Glorious!
Glorified art Thou, O Sender of the winds and Cleaver of the dawn! I beseech Thee by Thy Name, the All-Compelling, that Thou open before our faces the doors of Thy mercy and make us to be of those who have acknowledged Thy singleness and confessed Thy oneness and stood firm in such wise that neither the signs of the ungodly among Thy creatures nor the veils of the heedless among Thy people could deter them. They have arisen with Thy steadfastness to promote Thy Cause and have summoned the servants to the horizon of Thy bounties and the dawning-place of Thy favors. O Lord! We have turned toward Thee and have drawn nigh unto the ocean of Thy bestowals. I beseech Thee that Thou withhold not from us that which is with Thee and ordain for us what Thou hast ordained for Thy chosen servants who have laid down their lives in Thy path, O Thou Who art the Lord of all names! Verily Thou art the Powerful over whatsoever Thou willest. There is none other God but Thee, the All-Compelling, the Self-Subsisting.
BH08934: The Most Ancient, the Most Great
The Most Ancient, the Most Great
The Dawn hath appeared upon the Temple of Man. Verily this is the Book of the All-Merciful which was mentioned in the Scriptures of God, the Most High, the Most Great. Therein hath been inscribed by the Most Exalted Pen that which none knoweth save His Own Self, the All-Knowing.
This Book can only be known through itself, and this Man can only be known through his own self. Thus doth the All-Informed apprise you. They who desire to know Him through other than what hath been truthfully revealed are indeed behind a manifest veil. Thus hath He indicated His Own Self through His Own Self. Reflect, that ye may know what hath been sent down from the presence of the Mighty, the Wise.
Whoso cleaveth to vain desire, verily he shall not attain unto guidance nor know what his Ancient Lord hath intended. Whoso desireth other than Me, verily he is of the people of vain desire, in a mighty tablet. Whoso turneth unto My Self, verily he is of the people of truth and guidance before God, the Mighty, the Bountiful.
BH08938: The Most Great, Most Holy
The Most Great, Most Holy
All remembrances have been effaced through the remembrance of thy Lord, the Lord of all mankind, and the dwellers of the Mount were struck with awe when the Tree of the All-Merciful spoke forth: “Verily, I am God, the Almighty, the All-Powerful, the All-Bountiful.”
When We manifested the Word from the horizon of Will, among the people were those who turned towards it and those who turned away and denied their Lord, the All-Merciful.
When thou hast attained unto the garment of Revelation and found from it the fragrance of thy Lord, arise amidst the concourse of earth and say: The Promised One hath appeared with sovereignty, grandeur and power. Beware lest the affairs of the world withhold you from your Lord, the Most High, the All-Glorious. Cast them behind you and take what hath been given you from the presence of Him Who causeth the morning to break. Thus have We sent down unto thee the verses—verily thy Lord is the Mighty, the All-Bountiful.
O people of Baha! Beware lest ye follow those who follow vain imaginings. Break the idols of those who speak according to their own desires. Blessed is he who is mighty and triumphant.
BH09004: A Book from Us to her who bore him…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Exalted
A Book from Us to her who bore him who arose to serve his Lord and entered prison twice. Blessed is she from whom was born he who remained steadfast in the love of his Lord. By My life, she is among the successful ones and he is among those who have attained. O My handmaiden! Hearken unto the call from the direction of grandeur from the Crimson Tree: Verily, there is none other God but Him, the Almighty, the Powerful. He hath sent the best of His creation unto His servants to give them glad tidings of His days and to reward them through His grace. But when He came with the truth, they turned away from Him and denied God, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise. Be thou steadfast in the love of thy Lord and hold fast unto His mighty cord. Verily, He is with those women who have believed in God, the Mighty, the Praised. Glorify thy Lord with praise, then turn and say: Praise be unto Thee, O Beloved of the worlds!
BH09018: Your letter hath come before the Throne and hath…
He is the Most Great, the Most Great
Your letter hath come before the Throne and hath been honored with the favoring glance of the Lord of Names. That which was mentioned hath been heard. Blessed art thou for having fulfilled God’s Covenant and His Testament, and for having attained His presence while every distant misbeliever turned away. As Rafi’ was hastening to depart, this brief response was made. God willing, a detailed reply to the letter will be revealed and sent later. Convey greetings to all the loved ones of God who have drunk from the cup of divine grace and reclined upon the couches of steadfastness, and gladden them all with God’s loving-kindness. Blessed is he who hath turned to the Countenance and blessed is she who hath believed in God, the Lord of the worlds. Woe unto him who hath turned away from Him and woe unto her who hath disbelieved in God when He came with the truth through His wondrous Command.
BH09083: O God of the world, Who hast manifested through…
He is the Healer, the Sufficing, the Helper, the All-Knowing, the All-Informed
O God of the world, Who hast manifested through the Most Great Name! I beseech Thee by the ocean of Thy knowledge, and the sun of Thy manifestation, and the heaven of Thy bounty, to ordain for Thy loved ones that which will gladden them in Thy days. Then protect them, O my God, from every disease and affliction, and from whatsoever may prevent them from drawing nigh unto the ocean of Thy favors. Thou art He through Whose name all things have spoken. There is none other God but Thee, the Forgiving, the Generous. O Lord! This is one of Thy handmaidens who hath turned unto Thee when she heard Thy call. Write down for her what Thou hast written for Thy handmaidens who have circumambulated the throne of Thy grandeur, and who have attained unto Thy presence, and who have acknowledged that which Thy Most Exalted Pen hath acknowledged in the kingdom of creation, and who have acted according to what they were commanded in the Book of Names. Verily, Thou art the Almighty, the Powerful.
BH09086: The Most Great, the Most Glorious
The Most Great, the Most Glorious
O my God! This is a Branch that hath branched out from the Tree of Thy Singleness and the Lote-Tree of Thy Oneness. Thou seest him, O my God, looking unto Thee and clinging to the cord of Thy bounties. Do Thou protect him within the shelter of Thy mercy. Thou knowest, O my God, that I desire for him naught except what Thou didst desire, and have chosen for him naught save what Thou didst choose. Do Thou assist him, then, with the hosts of earth and heaven, and help, O my God, whosoever helpeth him, choose whosoever chooseth him, and uphold whosoever advanceth towards him. Abandon whosoever denieth him and seeketh him not. O Lord! Thou seest that at the time of revelation my pen moveth and my limbs tremble. I beseech Thee, by my ardor in Thy love and my yearning to manifest Thy Cause, to ordain for him and for them that love him that which Thou hast ordained for Thy Messengers and the Trustees of Thy Revelation. Verily, Thou art God, the Almighty, the All-Powerful.
BH09482: The Most Great, the Most Glorious!
The Most Great, the Most Glorious!
The signs have appeared and the verses have been sent down, yet the people are in a strange stupor. O people! Follow not those who have followed vain imaginings and turned away from God, the Lord of the Mighty Throne. Abandon idle fancies. By My life! The sun of knowledge hath dawned from the horizon of certitude. Rend asunder the veils of allusion by God’s leave, the Creator of the heavens, and abandon those ascetics who have denied God, then take fast hold of My strong cord. This is a day wherein every one who advanceth gaineth, and every doubting denier loseth. Be thou thankful unto thy Lord for having remembered thee before the Throne and revealed unto thee this wondrous Tablet. Say: O people! He is the Originator of the heavens and the earth. Reflect that ye may recognize this Most Wondrous, Most Exalted, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
BH09312: From the right hand of the divine will it…
From the right hand of the divine will it hath been revealed
Say: O companion! All services and matters depend upon the word “yea” or “nay” which shineth forth from the Dayspring of the tongue of the All-Merciful. Praise be to God that thou hast attained unto thy goal and thy service, whatever it may have been, hath been accepted. Many were the souls who were occupied day and night in the remembrance of God and who stood fast with utmost diligence in carrying out His commandments and prohibitions; nevertheless their deeds were not accepted. Even as thou didst observe the divines of the age who were occupied in the service of religious laws—most of them did not attain to the word of acceptance. And many were the souls who, at a single call, attained unto the divine “Here am I.” Through God’s grace be thou confident and joyous. Never be thou sorrowful.
BH09475: We have heard what you called out…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Holy
We have heard what you called out to the Wronged One when He was in the midst of the idolaters, and We discovered from your call the fragrance of your love for the Lord of all worlds. Blessed be your tongue for having moved in praise of your Lord, and your breast for having been illumined by the lights of love for this radiant and luminous Beauty. We beseech God to assist you at all times to remember and praise Him, and to strengthen you in your steadfastness in what you are engaged in. Verily, He is the All-Powerful, the Almighty. Blessed are you, for We found your letter sanctified from mention of any but Me. This befits those who have in this Day acknowledged this wondrous Cause—that they remember the One Who hath remembered them and exalt the one who hath bowed before His sovereignty and power. Verily, He is the Most Merciful of the merciful. The glory be upon you and upon God’s sincere servants.
BH09470: We have adorned the Night of Power…
He is the Most Ancient, the Most Mighty, the Most Exalted
We have adorned the Night of Power with the letter “H” that the people of Baha may attain certitude through this Most Great, Supreme Name. Through it was the Qur’an adorned aforetime, and when combined with “V” the number six appears, if ye be of them that understand. Blessed is he who hath clung to it, detached from all the worlds. Verily it is the Hidden Mystery wherewith have been adorned the Books of God, the Almighty, the All-Powerful, the All-Glorious, the Most Bountiful. Through it were ordained the measures of all things in the Tablets and every wise command made distinct. They who have turned away, these are accounted among the wrongdoers, and they who have turned towards it, these are among the gems of creation—We bear witness that they are of them that are brought nigh. Know ye, O My loved ones, what We have bestowed upon you through Our grace, and be ye of the thankful ones.
BH09480: The Most Ancient, the Most Great. The Light hath…
The Most Ancient, the Most Great. The Light hath appeared from the horizon of Sinai and the Mount, crying out:
“Praise be unto Thee, O Beloved of the worlds, for that Thou hast found the fragrance of reunion from the garment of Thy Name, the Near One.”
All things today bear witness that sovereignty belongeth unto God, the Creator of heaven, yet the people remain in a mighty veil. They who have rent asunder the veils, these are they who have attained unto the presence of God in the final goal—yea, these are they who have attained.
Among the people is he who is held back by wealth from his final end, and among them is he who is occupied with women, heedless of God, the Lord of the Exalted Throne. Blessed is the strong one who hath broken the idol of vain imaginings, turning unto the All-Powerful, the Most High.
By My life! He is of them by whom the eyes of the sincere ones are consoled. And upon thee and upon him be glory from the presence of the Mighty, the Praiseworthy.
BH09524: The Book of Baha¡ unto the maidservants who have…
He is the One mentioned in the former Scriptures.
The Book of Baha¡ unto the maidservants who have quaffed the pure wine of life in the days of the All-Merciful, and have turned with their hearts unto God, the Lord of all contingent being.
O My maidservants! Rejoice not in adversities; for verily He hath been plunged into an ocean of tribulation–thus beareth witness the Lord of Names from His most exalted station. The very atoms lament for His sorrow, yet most men are wrapped in a joy and exultation which hath seized them in the days of God. Ere long shall they bewail their own selves, and shall find no refuge nor escape. All glory be upon you, O maidservants of God, and upon him who circleth around the Cause with spirit and sweet savour.
BH09549: Thy letter hath been presented before the Throne…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Exalted
Thy letter hath been presented before the Throne, and thy call hath been heard by the ear of favor. God willing, thou shalt cry out with thy soul in the path of the Beloved and strive to the extent of thy capacity to manifest spiritual qualities. Thou hast uttered a noble word, and it is this: “Ordain for me that which is best for me.” This word is acceptable and praiseworthy. Were people to become aware of the station of this word, all would utter it, to such extent that they would send naught else to the court of the Truth, for from this word can be inhaled the fragrance of resignation of all affairs unto God and detachment from all else besides Him. By this hath God forgiven thy transgressions and answered thee through this exalted Tablet. Be thou grateful unto thy Lord for this great bounty.
BH09557: The Most Mighty, Most Holy, Most Exalted!
The Most Mighty, Most Holy, Most Exalted!
Praise be unto Thee, O my God, for having manifested that which lay hidden within Thy knowledge and having made clear unto Thy servants that which draweth them nigh unto the shore of the ocean of Thy bounty. I beseech Thee by Thy Name through which Thou didst send down the Sad that was mentioned in the Gospel, and through which was revealed that which was promised in Thy Books, Thy Tablets, Thy Scriptures and Thy Psalms, to make each one of Thy loved ones steadfast in Thy Cause and firm in Thy love, in such wise that they shall behold naught save Thy good-pleasure and whatsoever Thou hast ordained for them through Thy decree. O Lord! Thou hast made this station the most exalted of stations. I beseech Thee not to withhold Thy loved ones from this glorious and sublime station. Verily, Thou art the All-Powerful, the Most High, the All-Compelling, the Ever-Forgiving, the All-Bountiful.
BH09367: Glorified be He Who has spoken and caused all…
He is the Most Wondrous, the Most Great
Glorified be He Who has spoken and caused all in the heavens and earth to speak. He has come with a Manifestation through Whom the veils have been rent asunder and that which was hidden in God’s knowledge, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise, has been revealed. Through Him the idol has wailed, the false god has been frightened, and every contemptible water has been appointed. Blessed is he who has recognized the One to be recognized and has attained to the fragrance of the All-Merciful when it was wafted from the direction of His garment. The proof has been perfected, the favor completed, and the evidence has encompassed all in the worlds. Nothing has prevented Him from the remembrance of God—He speaks His praise despite those who have disbelieved in God and were among the wrongdoers. Verily, the glory from Our presence is upon every one who has turned and is steadfast.
BH09398: Glorified art Thou, O my God! Thou hearest…
He is the Most Ancient, the Most Great
Glorified art Thou, O my God! Thou hearest the lamentations of the lovers in their separation, and beholdest the burning of the hearts of the sincere throughout all regions. I beseech Thee, O Lord of the Day of Mutual Separation, to assist Thy servants and handmaidens to be steadfast in Thy love and to be detached from all else but Thee. Verily, Thou art He Whom the gestures of the oppressors cannot frustrate, nor can the might of the deniers prevent. Thou doest what Thou willest through Thy power, and ordainest what Thou desirest through Thy majesty and sovereignty. O Lord! Ordain for Thy loved ones that which will cause their spirits to soar, their eyes to be gladdened, and their breasts to be illumined. Thy mercy hath preceded all things, and verily Thou art the Almighty, the Most Exalted, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
BH09589: This is a Book from Us to people who…
He is the Most Great
This is a Book from Us to people who understand. Verily there is no God but Him. His is the creation and the command. All are His worshippers. Those who have believed today, they are among the most excellent of creation, and those who have turned away, they are a people who deny. O servants of God, hearken to the call from this exalted Tree—verily there is no God but Him, the Protector, the Self-Subsisting. Associate not with God. Be witnesses in the earth. Beware lest ye deprive yourselves of the ocean of knowledge. All that appears hath appeared from the gulfs that branch forth from this ocean, were ye to know. Thus have We sent down the command with truth and made it a light for whosoever turns to the Mighty, the Beloved.
BH09454: The Day hath come wherein He Who gave utterance…
He is the Most Great, the Most Glorious
The Day hath come wherein He Who gave utterance to this wise Remembrance was raised up, wherein the Call was lifted up in remembrance of the Lord of Names, and wherein the realities of all things were stirred in that wondrous Day. He spoke at the beginning of His Manifestation through this Name, whereby God shed His radiance upon all who are in the heavens and on earth. He counseled all to hold fast to this hidden Name and gave them glad tidings of this wise Remembrance. Blessed is he who fulfilled his covenant and did not break God’s compact—he is assuredly among the triumphant. It behooveth every soul to remember Him on the day of His Manifestation and thereby render thanks unto his Lord, the Mighty, the Wise. Thus have We sent down the verses and dispatched them unto thee as a token of Our grace, that thou mayest be of them that render praise.
BH09285: O friend! The Friend hath testified to thy friendship…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Great
O friend! The Friend hath testified to thy friendship—this sufficeth thee, by the Lord of all the worlds! This word is most sweet to the taste of lovers. Blessed are they that understand! Some time ago thou didst send a number equal to the pillars of the inkstand. Verily, glory be upon the one who wrote it, and blessed then be glory upon the one who sent it. And We beseech God to aid the one who made it. This was so that every craftsman might know that craftsmanship is desired and accepted before God. All should strive and endeavor to perfect it, that every thing may attain to its paradise which is its state of perfection. Glory be upon thee and upon those who are with thee.
BH09399: Glory be to Thee, O my God! My face…
Glory be to Thee, O my God! My face hath been set towards Thy face, and my face is, verily, Thy face, and my call is Thy call, and my Revelation Thy Revelation, and my self Thy Self, and my Cause Thy Cause, and my behest Thy behest, and my Being Thy Being, and my sovereignty Thy sovereignty, and my glory Thy glory, and my power Thy power.
I implore Thee, O Thou Fashioner of the nations and the King of eternity, to guard Thy handmaidens within the tabernacle of Thy chastity, and to cancel such of their deeds as are unworthy of Thy days. Purge out, then, from them, O my God, all doubts and idle fancies, and sanctify them from whatsoever becometh not their kinship with Thee, O Thou Who art the Lord of names, and the Source of utterance. Thou art He in Whose grasp are the reins of the entire creation.
No God is there but Thee, the Almighty, the Most Exalted, the All-Glorious, the Self-Subsisting.
BH09592: This is a Book sent down from before…
In the Name of God, the Most Holy, the Most Great!
This is a Book sent down from before the Self-Subsisting to those who have attained the lights of the Day when the Youth came in the shadows of clouds with power and sovereignty. Verily, he who has turned to the Countenance has indeed been guided by the lights whereby the regions were illumined. Blessed is the soul that is illumined and the heart that has turned toward the Qiblih of the horizons. This is the Day whereon all things speak forth:
“The All-Merciful is come! The Kingdom is God’s, the Mighty, the Gracious!”
Among the people are those who are stirred by the breeze of God, and among them are those who have turned back to the fire. O loved ones of God! Hearken unto the call from the precincts of the Prison—verily there is no God but Him, the Mighty, the Self-Choosing. Be united in the love of God—this is better for you than all that hath been created in the realm of possibility.
BH09200: Praise be to God that thou hast attained unto…
In the name of the Peerless Friend
Praise be to God that thou hast attained unto the lights of the Sun of Truth and art gladdened and delighted by the vernal breezes of the Divine Springtime. Thou art witnessed in the Most Great Scene and mentioned in the Most Holy Court of the Lord of Eternity. This is among the great bounties of thy Lord. I beseech God, exalted be His glory, that thou mayest ever dwell beneath the shade of the Divine Lote Tree and be blessed by the fragrance of His celestial Robe, in such wise that the winds of the hearts of the ungodly shall not prevent thee from the court of oneness, nor shall the waters of the objections of the heedless extinguish the fire of thy love. All affairs are in His hand—He doeth what He willeth through His sovereignty. There is no God but Him, the Mighty, the Wise.
BH09434: Blessed is he who seeketh shelter beneath the shade…
Blessed is he who seeketh shelter beneath the shade of the Branch of God, his Lord and the Lord of the Throne and the Lord of all the worlds.
O My Branch! Be thou as the spring clouds of My loving-kindness, then shower upon all things in My wondrous Name.
O My Branch! We have chosen thee, for Him Who is the Unconstrained hath chosen thee. Say: Praise be unto Thee, O God of the worlds! O Greater Branch! We have chosen thee for the triumph of My Cause. Arise to achieve a wondrous triumph. Subdue the cities of names through My Name, the Sovereign over all that He willeth.
O thou Ocean! Surge in My Name, the All-Compelling, the Most Great. Open thou the cities of hearts through My Name, the Best-Beloved, the Mighty, the Exalted. Every deed hath been made dependent upon thy love. Blessed is he who hath attained unto that which his Lord, the All-Knowing, hath willed. Blessed is he who hath heard thy call and turned to thee out of love for God, the Lord of the worlds.
BH09300: O Muhammad! God willing, thou shalt abide beneath…
In the Name of God, the Most Holy!
O Muhammad! God willing, thou shalt abide beneath the shade of the divine Lote-Tree and be nourished by its fruits. Thy name hath been mentioned before the Throne, and divine favor hath been directed towards thee from the prison. Blessed art thou, and blessed are thy father and mother. Ye are among those who have believed in God and turned away from every idolatrous infidel. Beseech and implore the True One, exalted be His glory, that He may guide all to such a degree that the winds of contingent being shall not prevent these souls who have turned towards Him from the direction of His oneness. Verily, He hath power over all things. In the acquisition of perfection, negligence is not permissible. Exert thy utmost endeavor. This is what hath been inscribed by thy Lord, the Mighty, the Self-Subsisting.
BH09582: This is a mention from Us to her who…
In the Name of God, the Most Holy, the Most Glorious!
This is a mention from Us to her who hath believed in God, the Cleaver of the Dawn, that she may find from the traces of God that which shall cause her to be enkindled with the fire of the remembrance of the name of her Lord, the Mighty, the Self-Subsisting. Hearken thou unto the Call from the Most Exalted Pen, whose sound hath been raised between earth and heaven:
“Verily, there is none other God but Me, the Single, the One, the All-Compelling.”
Beware lest the veils of idle fancies withhold thee, or the doubts of them who have disbelieved in God, the Lord of what was and what shall be, prevent thee. Remember thy Lord, then prostrate thyself and be steadfast before His Face, the Sovereign over all who are in the earth and the heavens. Then rejoice in this Tablet which hath been sent down unto thee, from whose horizon hath shone forth the Sun of the remembrance of thy Lord, the Mighty, the Bestower.
BH09302: God willing, may you, through the grace…
He is the Most Wondrous, the Most Great
God willing, may you, through the grace of the Lord of creation, hold fast to the divine Lote-Tree in all the worlds. Divine bounty hath been and will continue to be vouchsafed unto each one of you. Praise be to the Ancient Lord that thou art privileged with the most great honor and gazest upon the most great horizon. God willing, may you be occupied at all times with the remembrance of the All-Merciful in a spirit of joy and fragrance, turning away from all else. The world hath ever been and will continue to be the realm of change and transformation. Therefore it hath no station before God, and that which is enduring and lasting existeth with the Truth. We beseech God to aid all to achieve what He loveth and is pleased with, and to ordain for you what lieth concealed in the mysteries of His knowledge. Verily, He is the Mighty, the Generous.
BH09550: Thy letter was present before the Countenance…
He is the Most Glorious, The Most Holy
Thy letter was present before the Countenance and the Most Holy Gaze was directed towards it. These words were mentioned at its beginning:
“O my God! Though the chicory be bitter, it is from the garden.”
O Zaman! God willing, through the bounty of the All-Merciful thou shalt become sweet and be accounted as among the flowers of the divine paradise. They that have turned unto God are as leaves and fruits and flowers of God’s spiritual garden. They have been created from the element of love and have sprouted forth from the rain clouds of grace. Strive thou to be adorned throughout all thy days with the ornament of the divine springtime. Beware lest anything sadden thee. Hold fast to the cord of thy Lord’s mercy, then make mention of Him amidst all possibilities with wisdom and utterance, that through thy remembrance the heedless may be awakened. And praise be to God, the Protector, the Self-Subsisting.
BH09222: The Most Holy, the Most Pure
The Most Holy, the Most Pure.
Hearken unto the call of thy Lord, the All-Merciful, from the horizon of tribulation: verily there is none other God but Him, the Mighty, the Help in Peril. He remembereth whomsoever He willeth, and causeth his remembrance to be inscribed upon the Tablets; wherefore the Concourse on high and the denizens of the Kingdom of Names make mention of him at eventide and at dawn.
They who have halted this day have no share; but he who hath turned unto Him is of those whose hearts have been illumined with the light of recognition. Blessed is he who hath entered the gardens of disclosure and of vision, inasmuch as the veils have been rent asunder and the horizons have been brightened. Joyful tidings unto thee, O servant, for that which hath flowed upon thy mention from the Pen of Revelation, and for that thy Lord, the Mighty, the All-Bestowing, hath spoken thy name.
Know thou the worth of this station. Say: Praise be to Thee, O Thou at Whose Name the Hour was confounded and the Resurrection was raised up.
BH09382: Say: Glory be to Thee, O my God! Have…
He is the Most Mighty of the Mighty
Say: Glory be to Thee, O my God! Have mercy upon Thy male and female servants in Thy days, then send down upon them that which will cause them to turn toward the direction of Thy favors and to gaze toward the horizon of Thy Cause. O my Lord! I am a handmaiden among Thy handmaidens who hath turned unto Thee and faced the Source of Thy Cause and the Repository of Thy knowledge. I beseech Thee by Thy Name through which the horizons were illumined and the lands were enlightened to ordain for me that which Thou hast ordained for Thy handmaidens who have heard Thy call and were present before the throne of Thy grandeur and attained unto Thy presence after Thou didst manifest the Manifestation of Thyself through Thy sovereignty and Thy power. Verily, Thou art powerful over whatsoever Thou willest. There is no God but Thee, the Mighty, the Wise. The glory be upon you both and upon those handmaidens who were with you.
BH09558: O Most Holy, Most Glorious!
O Most Holy, Most Glorious!
Praise be unto Thee, O my God, for having blessed Thy servant whom Thou didst honor with Thy presence and caused to hear Thy verses. O my God! Thou knowest that he migrated in Thy love until he entered the city wherein was established the throne of Thy grandeur. Thereupon were raised the banners of oppression until the idolaters drove us out from the Land of Mystery and imprisoned us in the Most Great Prison. Thus was he prevented from attaining Thy presence. O my Lord! Ordain for him and for those who have sought Thee that which befitteth Thy glory. Then write down for them the good of this world and of the world to come. Then cause them to be among those who circle round the Kaaba of Thy Cause in all Thy worlds. Verily Thou art the One Who hath power over whatsoever Thou willest. Nothing can prevent Thy sovereignty and Thou art, in truth, the All-Powerful, the Most Exalted, the Mighty, the All-Wise.
BH09956: Say: All paths have branched forth from this unerring…
In the Name of Him Who is seated upon the Throne!
Say: All paths have branched forth from this unerring Path, and all ways have stemmed from this Straight Road. Say: It is the Most Great Balance, whereby every mighty matter is weighed. By it are all things known, if ye be of them that perceive. Whoso turneth unto Him hath turned unto God from all eternity, and whoso turneth away—nothing shall be accepted from him, though he bring all that is in earth and heaven. Thus hath He decreed Who is the Sovereign of all might, and He is, verily, knowing of all things. O people! Aid ye the All-Merciful, and be not numbered with them that remain silent.
BH09938: All the Books have been sent down in order…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Great
All the Books have been sent down in order to establish the truth of this Cause. Whoso turneth away hath verily denied God and His Messengers and His Books which were sent unto the worlds. Say: All Books have been expounded from this mighty Book. He who denieth this Book, naught shall be accepted from him though he act according to what is in the Books of God, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise. All things have been made dependent upon this Cause—this if ye be of them that comprehend. Every mention hath been consummated by this Mention and every foundation by this firm Foundation. They who act according to what hath been revealed in the Tablet—these are among the triumphant ones.
BH09794: O servant! Hear the call of Husayn. Thy letter…
In His Name, the One Who has dominion over all things!
O servant! Hear the call of Husayn. Thy letter was observed by the eye of loving-kindness. Praise thou the Best-Beloved of the worlds that thou hast been named by this name. However, for servitude there are certain conditions. The first is that thou shouldst manifest spiritual qualities among all people, that all may find and observe in thee the signs of servitude and servanthood. If thou takest pride in this name, be thou of them that render thanks. We have adorned thee with the ornament of this wise remembrance, that thou mayest be assured that He hath desired him who desired Him and hath intended him who intended Him, and what is with Him hath precedence over what is with others. Verily, He is the Forgiving, the Merciful.
BH09922: The All-Merciful has come with clear proof…
He is the All-Glorious, the Most Holy
The All-Merciful has come with clear proof, and the Dove of Utterance has warbled upon the branches: “Verily, there is none other God but Me, the Mighty, the Generous.” Say: We have never entered any school, nor do We wish to expound in Our Tablets what the people possess and their sciences. This is what the Remembrance has informed you in a clear Book. He has said: “He speaks in all things: ʿThere is none other God but Me, the Mighty, the All-Wise.”’ O My loved ones! Remember your Lord, the All-Merciful, with wisdom, that people may recognize this Day and be numbered among those who have turned unto Him. Blessed is he who has recognized and turned, and has said: “Praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds!”
BH09850: Glorified art Thou, O my God! Aid Thy handmaidens…
He is the Most Ancient, the Most Great
Glorified art Thou, O my God! Aid Thy handmaidens to be steadfast in Thy Cause, to turn their faces toward Thy countenance, and to gaze upon the horizon of Thy favors. O Lord! Make them sanctified through Thy sovereignty and devoted to Thy command, mentioning Thy remembrance and praise. Then cause them to be among those who circle round the throne of Thy grandeur and who succeed in carrying out that which they have been bidden by Thee, that there may appear from them that which befitteth their relationship to Thee. Verily, Thou art the Powerful One, Whose command hath encompassed all created things and Whose knowledge hath encompassed all contingent beings. Nothing whatsoever can frustrate what Thou hast willed, nor can any in the heavens or earth render Thee powerless. There is no God but Thee, the Powerful, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
BH09753: The Book itself speaks, yet the people do not…
In His Name, the Ruler, the Everlasting!
The Book itself speaks, yet the people do not understand. The Hidden One has appeared and is visible, yet the people do not see. They are those who denied the presence of their Lord when He came on the appointed day. Say: He is indeed the Sovereign in all possibility, and He is verily the Protector, the Self-Subsisting. Were He to roll up what has been spread out by His command, none could object. He is indeed the Ruler through His word “Be!” and it is. It behooveth every soul to follow Him in whatsoever He willeth. This is a manifest truth. Whoso is not upon this path hath not attained. Thus doth the Truth testify, if ye be of them that know.
BH09786: O friends! I truly say that whosoever is deprived…
In the Name of the Beloved of the worlds!
O friends! I truly say that whosoever is deprived today of the outpourings from the heaven of divine mercy shall never succeed in making up for it, inasmuch as this day is the Lord of days and the King of all days. One breath drawn today for the sake of God is equal to the goodly deeds of numbered years. We beseech God, exalted be His glory, to assist thee and to keep thee firm and steadfast in His love. Such is the bounty of God that even in this Most Great Prison, amidst countless afflictions, He remembers His friends. This supreme blessing is specially ordained for this Day. Know ye its value and count it as a precious treasure.
BH09777: May you be fresh and verdant through the winds…
In His Name that hath dominion over all names
May you be fresh and verdant through the winds of the mercy of the All-Merciful and the rain-clouds of the bounty of the All-Glorious, and may you dwell at rest beneath the shade of the Tree of Oneness in all the worlds. O saplings of the divine garden! The hand of training of the True Educator hath ever been and shall continue to be engaged in training whatsoever hath grown in the paradise of God. We render thanks unto God for having manifested thee in His days, and for having related thee to him who turned unto Him and attained unto His recognition and quaffed the choice wine of mystical knowledge and the pure water of submission from the hands of His bounties on a day wherein all arose in hypocrisy save those who held fast unto the Sure Handle and were detached from all else but Him.
BH10021: This is a Book which hath dawned…
In the name of God, the Eternal, without end!
This is a Book which hath dawned from the horizon of utterance unto him who hath turned to the Help in Time of Need, the Almighty. We make mention of the loved ones of God in the prison, that they may arise to aid the Cause through wisdom and utterance. Sedition beseemeth not man, but rather that whereby the affairs of those on earth may be set aright. Is there one of discerning taste who can perceive the sweetness of the feast which We have sent down from the heaven of eternity upon the peoples? By My Self, the True One! Whoso hath found it hath detached himself, then arose and cried out: “The Kingdom is God’s, the Almighty, the Unconstrained!” These are verses which, should their fragrance waft over the rock, would cause it to cry out at the top of its voice: “The Beloved is come, O concourse of lovers!”
BH09759: O daughter of My brother! Hearken thou unto…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Glorious
O daughter of My brother! Hearken thou unto the Call from the direction of the mercy of thy Lord, the Most Exalted, the All-Glorious. Verily, there is none other God but Him, the Mighty, the Powerful. Remember thou thy Lord, then prostrate thyself before His Face, the Mighty, the Beautiful, inasmuch as He hath made known unto thee the Manifestation of His Self and the Dawning-Place of His verses when He came with the truth through this Most Great Name, whereby the worlds have been illumined. Blessed art thou in that thou hast been mentioned by the Pen of Command and thy name hath flowed from the tongue of Power and Might. Verily thy Lord is the Forgiving, the Bountiful. When thou dost inhale the fragrance of the garment, say: Praise be unto Thee, O God of all who are in the heavens and on earth.
BH09793: O thou who art absent yet present! Although outwardly…
He is the Remembered One!
O thou who art absent yet present! Although outwardly thou hast returned to thy native land according to the leave and will of the true Master, yet thy mention remains before the Divine Throne. Blessed art thou for having attained unto that which was the purpose in the Books of God, the Mighty, the Wise. A brief Tablet was sent down from the heaven of bounty to thy brother and forwarded to you. Deliver it to him and in all circumstances be watchful over the Cause of God, for deluded souls have been and are lying in wait. We beseech God to protect thee from the deceptions of the doubters and from the schemes of those who have remained heedless of God, thy Lord and the Lord of all the worlds.
BH09926: The Most Great, the Most Holy
The Most Great, the Most Holy.
The Tongue of Ancient Days hath spoken, calling out thy name, and hath sent down unto thee this Tablet through which the horizon of utterance hath been made to shine. Blessed is the one who ariseth with strength to make mention of Me and whose heart is set ablaze with My love. By My life! This is the way of the lovers. Can gold hold them back from this path? Nay, by My Name, the All-Merciful! Such a one ariseth in such wise that he seeth naught but Me, and heareth the clamor of the idolaters but as the buzzing of flies. We have inhaled the fragrance of thy love and have sent unto thee that from which those near unto God perceive the sweet savors of the garment of their Lord, the Gracious, the Bestower. Thus have We kindled the fire for thee that thou mayest be enkindled and arise to make mention of thy Lord amidst all creation.
BH10124: The Wronged One testifies that there is no God…
He is the All-Glorious!
The Wronged One testifies that there is no God but Him, the All-Compelling, the Self-Subsisting. He hath ever been hidden in His Essence, and He Who speaketh this day speaketh from His presence that there is no God but Me, the Mighty, the Well-Beloved. Verily, the Manifestation appears from the realm of the Unseen, and the Unseen establishes His decree through the Manifestation. Thus hath the Sun of Divine Unity shone forth from the horizon of detachment. Blessed are they who know! Say: The Unseen cannot be known except through this Visible One. Blessed be the All-Loving Who hath come on the Promised Day.
O H S! Adorn thyself with My attributes, then follow My path in such wise that the world and all that is therein shall not prevent thee from beholding the perspicuous countenance of thy Lord, the Generous.
BH09977: O Most Great, Most Holy One!
O Most Great, Most Holy One!
Kazim: Your letter with the names mentioned has been presented before the Throne and has attained divine favor. God willing, may you all dwell beneath the divine Lote-Tree and be nourished by its goodly fruits. The glance of mercy has been and will continue to be upon you. What bounty could be greater than this bounty, that in this age, the Book is occupied with your mention at dawn, while imprisoned in the hands of the oppressors? Blessed art thou and blessed are those with thee among those who have been awakened by the fragrances of revelation in this Dawn which hath appeared from the horizon of manifestation in truth.
BH09995: The Word of God, even if limited…
The Word of God, even if limited to a single word, cannot be equaled by all the books of the world. Grieve not that We have made this Tablet brief, for within it can be seen a mighty Book. This is a Tablet that hath been mixed with the salt of God. When thou hast tasted it and discovered its savor, arise and say: Praise be unto Thee, O God of the worlds! Marvel not if We jest in prison, for sorrows have never overtaken Us in the path of thy Lord, and We are in wondrous joy.
We have offered up one of Our Branches. Say: Unto Thee be praise, O Glory of the worlds! Would that thou knewest the surging waves of this Most Great Ocean and what lieth concealed therein of the pearls of the mysteries of thy Lord, the Mighty, the All-Praised!
BH10168: Verily, generosity calls out “The Kingdom is God’s…
He is the Most Bountiful, the Most Bountiful
Verily, generosity calls out “The Kingdom is God’s, the Mighty, the Generous!” Blessed is every generous one who has turned to the ocean of generosity. And he who thereafter does not turn shall not be called generous, even if he were to give away the treasures of the heavens and earth. Verily, he who has deprived himself of this generosity is indeed miserly, by the Lord of all worlds, for he has not spent on himself the everlasting food after its descent and bestowal. Thus has the matter been decreed from the presence of One Who is All-Knowing, All-Wise. The generous one is he who spends upon himself that which has been sent down from the presence of One Who is All-Knowing, All-Aware. He is indeed of the people of generosity in this luminous horizon.
BH10377: The Most Great, the Most Glorious
The Most Great, the Most Glorious.
A Book from Us for people who understand. Verily it hath been sent down in truth from God, the Protector, the Self-Subsisting. Let them that remember know that He remembereth them, and His remembrance precedeth all who remember and all who are remembered. O people! Rejoice in the Most Great Remembrance and put your trust in God, the Mighty, the Beloved. Let not the affairs of creation grieve you if ye desire the truth and are among those who observe. Soon shall the carpet of creation be rolled up, and ye shall circle round the Truth. Ye shall find yourselves in the most exalted station, gazing upon the Countenance. Thus doth God give you glad tidings in the Book, and the knowledge of all things is in a hidden Book.
BH10256: The most great Remembrance saith: O handmaids! Hear…
In the Name of the True Friend
The most great Remembrance saith: O handmaids! Hear the divine Word with the ears of your souls, and comprehend with pure hearts the loving counsels of the All-Merciful that flow from the Pen of the Beloved of all possibilities. The world is transient and impermanent, and ever shall be. Hold fast with the hand of trust to the hem of the favor of the Eternal Sovereign, that through His grace you may abide in the everlasting worlds. The Kawthar of mercy is surging, and creation, having not partaken, is bewildered. Blessed is he who drinks thereof and says: “Praise be to Thee, O Quickener of the worlds!”
BH10237: Revealed for the Messenger in the land of Ta
Revealed for the Messenger in the land of Ta
Strive that through divine grace and heavenly bounty you may remain firm and steadfast in the Cause, for the hosts of Satan lie in wait and have been and are seeking to lead astray the loved ones of God. They are but in manifest error and loss. God willing, may you ever abide at rest beneath the tree of divine oneness and be engaged in His remembrance. Glory be unto those whose names are present before the Throne—they are indeed among the triumphant. Convey greetings unto them from thy Lord—verily He is the Protector of the sincere ones.
BH10181: O Most Ancient, Most Ancient!
O Most Ancient, Most Ancient!
O Pen! We observe that thou lovest brevity in the Tablets. Yea, by My life, O My Chosen Lord! If there be a receptive ear, a single word sufficeth. It is the manifestation of the Most Great Oneness unto all who are in the earth and heavens. And verily it is the supreme magnet amidst the nations—it removeth the dust and attracteth those possessed of heart. Whosoever desireth the Desired One loveth to be honored by mention from among the mentions from the presence of the Lord of Creation. Therefore hath been sent down for each one that which will gladden them in the days of thy Lord. He is verily the Mighty, the All-Bountiful. Blessed is he who hath attained unto this bounty when the Decisive Utterance was revealed.
BH10257: The remembrance of God is for him who hath…
He is the Most Great, the Most Glorious
The remembrance of God is for him who hath held fast unto His remembrance when He appeared in truth with manifest sovereignty. Say: Whoso turneth away from this remembrance, he hath not truly held fast unto God’s remembrance, even should he remember Him throughout the duration of the kingdom. Thus doth the All-Merciful testify in a Tablet wherein hath been sent down every wise command. God accepteth not the deed of anyone save through this firm foundation. How many a worker hath been prevented today from attaining the presence of his Lord, though created for that purpose, and how many a heedless one hath attained and been numbered among the successful! Blessed art thou for having been remembered before the Face through this wondrous remembrance.
BH10198: O Son of Nabil! God willing, may you circle…
O Son of Nabil! God willing, may you circle round the All-Merciful in all worlds, attain His favors, and find rest in His shadow. The mentioned Tablets were sent—deliver them, and several copies also for the handmaidens of God from among your relatives. All this is from His bounty upon you. And you must gladden all the loved ones of the All-Merciful with the utterance of the Lord of Religions, for they are mentioned and remembered in the Most Holy Presence. Blessed art thou for having turned, drawn nigh, attained the presence, heard, and witnessed with thine outward illumined eye.
BH11855: O My Ghaffar! Grieve not at thy separation. Thou…
O My Ghaffar! Grieve not at thy separation. Thou art among those who have remained faithful to the Covenant. We love you even as you love Us, and Our love preceded your love—to this He Who is the Lord of the Day of Separation beareth witness. Grieve not at remoteness, but be content with whatsoever God hath ordained. Beware lest thou complainest of aught in My path. God will soon make manifest what He hath ordained for thee. He is thy Protector and the Protector of whosoever hath turned unto Him at all times. He beholdeth thee and His glance is directed towards thee. This verily is a great bounty. Be thou thankful unto thy Lord. He is the Helper of whomsoever hath sought Him and the Acceptor of whomsoever hath turned unto Him. He is possessed of ardent love.
BH10316: The Most Great, the Most Glorious
The Most Great, the Most Glorious.
God hath testified of His own Self by His own Self before the creation of His heaven and His earth that there is none other God but Him, the Single, the One, the Powerful, the Unconstrained. And He Who hath come is verily the One mentioned in the highest heaven and inscribed in the Tablets of your Lord, the Most High, the Most Glorious, and promised in the radiant Scriptures. And whosoever after Him layeth claim, he hath indeed uttered falsehood. By My Self that ruleth over all horizons, bear thou witness unto that whereunto God hath testified, then stand firm in the Cause with the spirit of power and assurance. Grieve not for him who hath ascended; verily he dwelleth in the seat of truth with thy Lord, the Mighty, the All-Bestowing.
BH10340: The Most Great, the Most Holy!
The Most Great, the Most Holy!
The sun hath dawned from the horizon of divine decree, whereon hath been inscribed by the Most Glorious Pen: “The Prison is for the Dayspring of Lights.” We, in the most wretched of dwellings, summon the people unto the Kingdom. Recognize this, O ye who are endowed with insight! The wine of idle fancy hath seized all who dwell on earth, save those who have turned with their hearts to the Horizon of all horizons. When anyone raiseth a call, We answer him, though We have prescribed for every soul that when he heareth, he should say: “Here am I, O God of all who are in the heavens and on earth!” Gather ye together, O My loved ones, for the sake of the Cause. Thus have ye been commanded in the Tablets.
BH10484: O Muhammad! When the Sun of Truth dawned…
He is the Most Ancient, the Most Great
O Muhammad! When the Sun of Truth dawned from the horizon of Hijaz, the people of metaphors objected to it. Among them were those who said “He hath spoken falsely” and among them were those who said “He is a lying sorcerer.” Likewise did they speak when the Spirit came with spirit and fragrance. Whenever We desired to draw them near, they fled and said “This is naught but a man of doubt.” Blessed is he who hath cast the world behind him, turning unto the Mighty, the Bestower. Be thou steadfast in the Cause and say: “Praise be unto Thee, O Thou Who didst remember me when I was in the hands of the wicked ones.”
BH10175: O Badi’u’llah! Your letter hath been presented before your…
In the Name of the Most Holy, the Most Exalted!
O Badi’u’llah! Your letter hath been presented before your Lord. We beseech God to assist thee in thy first and last matters, to sanctify thee from whatsoever is unworthy of thy relation to Him, and to grant thee the bounty of attaining His presence. He, verily, is the Powerful, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise. Thou hast found a scribe swifter than a steed, who mentioneth therein neither “if” nor “would that”, but recordeth what occureth to mind and what occureth not. We beseech God to assist all to remember and praise Him, and to gather them beneath the shade of His loving-kindness. He, verily, is the Powerful, the Almighty.
BH10289: O my God, glorified art Thou! Thou seest…
He is the Almighty
O my God, glorified art Thou! Thou seest that one of Thy handmaidens hath appeared before Thy throne and seeketh Thy grace and bounty. O Lord! Assist her to serve the Greater Branch and make her content and well-pleasing in such wise that if she should behold another in His presence, she would remain unchanged in herself and would in all conditions gaze upon Thee, saying at all times:
“Praise be unto Thee, O Thou in Whose hand is the reins of authority. Verily Thou art the Mighty, the Unconstrained.”
Praise be unto Thee, O my God, for having caused her to be numbered among the people of Thy pavilion of glory and the tabernacle of Thy protection. Verily Thou art the Mighty, the Bountiful.
BH10200: O handmaiden of God! The True One, exalted be…
In the Name of the Beloved of earth and heaven!
O handmaiden of God! The True One, exalted be His glory, says: O My handmaiden and daughter of My handmaiden! Thy letter was honored before the Countenance and was read. From the Most Exalted Pen thy name hath flowed—regard this bounty as great, and in all times be occupied with the remembrance of the All-Merciful. The greatest of all deeds in the sight of the Self-Sufficient, the Most High, is steadfastness in His Cause, for the manifestations of Satan have arisen with their deceptions. God shall soon cause them to sit down and return them to their abode in the fire.
BH10397: This is a book for My Self which has…
He is the Almighty
This is a book for My Self which has dawned upon the worlds. This is a remembrance for one who has sought My protection. Verily it has been sent down for it and it is a remembrance from Our presence. Unto Us doth truth return unto truth, and light unto this wondrous light. This is a beauty which We have caused to dawn from the horizon of wisdom and glory for this eye whereby were opened the eyes of the mystics. This is the breath of God for this noble and exalted sense of smell. The rays return, for it is the Sun, and the ultimate ascent is this luminous station. Praise be to God, the Lord of the worlds.
BH10551: O servant of the Friend! Hearken with the ear…
He is the Most Ancient, the Most Mighty
O servant of the Friend! Hearken with the ear of thy spirit to the call of the Friend. As long as thou art turned to Him, His eye is ever upon thee. The bodies of them that have turned to Us are even as gold among other bodies. Were He not looking upon thee, thou wouldst not be speaking His praise. He beholdeth thee and proclaimeth thy mention, even as He hath revealed and sent down this most impregnable Tablet in thy name from within the Most Great Prison amidst the oppressors. Blessed art thou for having attained unto this bounty and for being numbered among them that have turned unto Him.
BH10656: We walk, and the people walk behind Us; but…
He is the Most Glorious, the Most Great
We walk, and the people walk behind Us; but they remain veiled behind a mighty veil.
We make mention of God, and all things remember Him too. Happy are those who listen, but alas for those who are negligent.
We move, and all things visible and invisible move too; but those who are asleep are far from Us and are deprived.
O, ʿAli, assist your Lord by your conduct and character. This is worthy of those who cling to this Strong Cord. Adorn your bodies with the robe of courtesy, and your hearts with mention of Me, the Almighty, the Incomparable. Such has your Lord, the Merciful and forgiving, instructed you.
BH10661: This is a Book from Us to him who…
He is the Most Wondrous, the Most Glorious
This is a Book from Us to him who hath turned to the All-Possessing, the Most High, that he may inhale from this Tablet the fragrance of the utterance of his Lord, the All-Merciful—this Tablet from whose horizon hath shone forth the Sun of wisdom and knowledge. Be thou thankful unto God, inasmuch as the Most Exalted Pen hath moved to make mention of thee, and there hath flowed from the ocean of thy Lord’s will, the All-Merciful, “Make thou mention of Me amongst My servants.” This hath been prescribed for every soul by the Mighty, the Unconstrained. And glory be upon you, O people of righteousness!
BH10640: A Book have We sent down in truth unto…
He is the Most Ancient, the Most Great
A Book have We sent down in truth unto him who acknowledgeth the testimony of God when He appeared through His decisive and wondrous Cause. Verily the Dawning-Place of verses hath melodies which, were they to be revealed, would cause all who are in the heavens and on earth to swoon away, except whom God willeth, the All-Powerful, the All-Knowing, the All-Wise. He who hath turned unto Him this Day is assuredly of the people of Baha in the kingdom of creation, and he who hath turned away is verily among the dead. This is the Day of steadfastness—blessed is he who hath clung fast thereunto and is of them that are firm.
BH10659: This is the Book of God, the Mighty…
He is the Most Manifest, the Most Luminous
This is the Book of God, the Mighty, the Wise, unto all who are in the heavens and on earth, that all may discover the fragrances of the verses of their Lord, the Mighty, the Praised One. Blessed is the young who hath turned to the Countenance and the aged who hath been illumined by this resplendent Beauty. Blessed is the child who hath rent asunder the veils. Woe unto every doubting man! O daughter of My uncle, turn thou unto God with thy heart and say: O my God! I am she who hath turned unto the Qiblih of all horizons. I beseech Thee to preserve me from the glories of them that are veiled, and to deliver me unto Thyself. Verily, Thou art the Most Merciful of the merciful ones.
BH10555: O ʿAskar! The Supreme Pen beareth witness that thou…
He is the Ever-Abiding
O ʿAskar! The Supreme Pen beareth witness that thou art among those who have believed and attained. Be thou thankful and be of them that render thanks. Thou didst migrate to attain the presence of God and didst achieve the meeting with the Beloved, and yet again thou didst enter the Most Great Prison with the Ancient Beauty. Praise be to the Goal of all the worlds that thou didst attain unto the root of all good. Beseech thou God that thou mayest circle round Him in all the worlds. Take thou this station and leave all else to whomsoever desireth it.
BH10538: O Diya’u’llah! He sends His greetings to thy face…
He is the All-Knowing
O Diya’u’llah! He sends His greetings to thy face from this manifest horizon. Say: Praise be to God, the Lord of all worlds! Thou hast found a scribe more universal than anything and more nimble than a shadow. His pen ranges through the field of eloquence as if he were Quss ibn Sa’idah. His verse is more orderly than Europe’s system, and his prose more resplendent than the Pleiades’ necklace. Blessed is the scribe who occupies himself with the remembrance of the Lord of Names, morning and evening. May the glory rest upon thee and upon those who are with thee.
BH10569: O dervish! The festival befits Me not. Indeed, anxiety…
He is the One to be obeyed in all conditions!
O dervish! The festival befits Me not. Indeed, anxiety is My gladness and grief is My delight and tribulation is My festival and the prison is My paradise and the well is My vista and suffering is My companion. Thus do We perceive for Our Self in these days. And since the matter is thus, what shall We say regarding your affair and how shall We judge for you? We are God’s and unto Him shall we return. Be patient even as We were patient. Perchance God will bring about a matter from His presence. Verily He is the All-Powerful, the Almighty.
BH10578: Lauded be Thy name, O Lord my God! I…
He is the Most Mighty, the Most Glorious
Lauded be Thy name, O Lord my God! I entreat Thee by Thy Name through which the Hour hath struck, and the Resurrection came to pass, and fear and trembling seized all that are in heaven and all that are on earth, to rain down, out of the heaven of Thy mercy and the clouds of Thy tender compassion, what will gladden the hearts of Thy servants, who have turned towards Thee and helped Thy Cause.
Keep safe Thy servants and Thy handmaidens, O my Lord, from the darts of idle fancy and vain imaginings, and give them from the hands of Thy grace a draught of the soft-flowing waters of Thy knowledge.
Thou, truly, art the Almighty, the Most Exalted, the Ever-Forgiving, the Most Generous.
BH10663: This is a Book from Us to one whom…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Glorious
This is a Book from Us to one whom God has related to His Own Self, the One Who dominates all worlds, that his eyes may be consoled by the remembrance of God, the Mighty, the Wise. O thou who art young in years! Be great in utterance in celebrating the praise of thy Lord, the Possessor of Destiny, through that which hath been sent down unto thee from the All-Greatest Horizon—that which causes the eyes to be gladdened. Verily thy Lord is the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful. We beseech God to preserve you from the arrows of the hints of the suspicious ones, and to ordain for you that which is best for you. Verily He is the Protector of those who turn unto Him.
BH10537: O My handmaiden! Blessed art thou for having turned…
He is the Most Mighty, the Most Glorious
O My handmaiden! Blessed art thou for having turned thy heart to the Qiblih of all horizons. Beware lest anything withhold thee from God, the Cleaver of daybreak. Remember thy Lord with joy and fragrance. Thus hast thou been commanded by thy Lord, the Mighty, the All-Knowing. How many a learned one hath been debarred from the Known One, and how many an ignorant one hath drawn nigh unto the Mighty, the Bestower! How many men have been veiled by vain imaginings, and how many women have rent asunder the veils! Verily the grace is in God’s hand—He bestoweth it upon whomsoever He willeth. He, verily, is the Almighty, the Unconstrained.
BH10944: O ʿAli-Rida! Hearken unto the call of the Wronged…
In the Name of God, the Most Manifest, the Most Manifest!
O ʿAli-Rida! Hearken unto the call of the Wronged One. Verily, there is none other God but Him, the Protector, the Self-Subsisting. Thou playest with the children while the All-Merciful remembereth thee from this exalted Station. We beseech Him, exalted be He, to enable thee to do that which He loveth and pleaseth, and to ordain for thee that which shall profit thee in this world and the world to come. Verily, He is the Mighty, the All-Wise.
BH10786: The Most Holy, The Most Glorious
The Most Holy, The Most Glorious
O daughter of ʿAli! Hearken unto the Call of the King of earth and heaven, Who calleth from the right hand of the Most Great Prison and summoneth thee to the Kingdom of the Ancient of Days. Praise be to the Best-Beloved of the worlds that thou hast been under His gaze, and God willing, thou shalt in all conditions be turned toward the Most Great Scene. Place thy trust in God and commit thy affairs unto Him. Verily He beholdeth whosoever turneth toward His shining and luminous Countenance.
BH10869: The One Who remembereth hath not forgotten His remembering…
He is the All-Glorious, the Most Glorious
The One Who remembereth hath not forgotten His remembering servant, and the Intended One will not deprive the seeker of the effulgences of His lights. How excellent is the state of that soul whose remembrance ascendeth to the throne and from whose heart’s paradise there reacheth the Divine presence a sweet fragrance, purely for the sake of God. These are the days of grace—we look to grace. Were we to look to justice, not a single word would flow from the Pen of the Ancient of Days. Verily, He knoweth all things.
BH10768: O Majd! God glorifies Himself and those who have…
He is the Most Holy, the Most Exalted
O Majd! God glorifies Himself and those who have believed in Him on the Day when eyes are transfixed, save whom thy Lord, the Mighty, the Great, hath willed. We beseech God that He may draw thee nigh unto Him and cause thee to enter the holy presence and give thee to drink of the choice wine of His wondrous and glorious utterance. Read thou the Tablet and say: Praise be to God! Verily He remembereth those who turn unto Him.
BH10765: O Zaynu’l-ʿAbidin! Hearken unto the call of thy Lord…
He is the Most Mighty, the Most Mighty
O Zaynu’l-ʿAbidin! Hearken unto the call of thy Lord, the All-Merciful, from this mighty Prison. The Kingdom belongeth unto God, the One, the Single, the Almighty, the All-Wise. Adorn thy heart with My love, and thy tongue with My remembrance, and thy head with the crown of My Cause, the Mighty, the Impregnable. They who follow My commandments, these are under the shadow of My tender care and within the tabernacle of My mercy that hath encompassed all worlds. Remember thy Lord; verily He remembereth thee in this land of exile amidst the hands of the idolaters.
BH10817: Regarding the matter of purchasing the specific house, again…
Regarding the matter of purchasing the specific house, again it hath been revealed from the heaven of God’s command:
“Soon shall We raise up one who will purchase what thou hast desired, through pure love. Verily thy Lord is the All-Powerful, the Almighty.”
At the Throne, there is nothing available to be sent, but in the inmost heart We have enabled one of the loved ones. God willing, it shall become manifest to thee in the outward realm. Verily thy Lord is the All-Knowing, the All-Informed.
BH10793: O Leaf of the Divine Lote-Tree! Strive, for this…
O Leaf of the Divine Lote-Tree! Strive, for this is the Day of striving and endeavor, that thou mayest learn from the wondrous melodies of the Lote-Tree. Unseal the musk that is sealed, and manifest the light of thy heart, so that all steadfast handmaidens may find their way to the paradise of reunion with the Immortal Beloved through the fragrance of thy love and utterance. God willing, mayest thou be adorned with the ornament of detachment and be free and independent of all else save Him.
BH10799: From the Source of the Command it has been…
From the Source of the Command it has been revealed: It is incumbent upon all the loved ones of Truth to reflect upon steadfastness and its degrees, so that they may comprehend the wisdom of God’s utterance, Who in most Tablets has called the people unto steadfastness. Say: O My loved ones, reflect deeply upon the veils of glory and ever keep them before your eyes, lest perchance the glorified veils of idle fancy prevent you from the Court of Oneness. And the Glory be upon you.
BH10828: Glorified art Thou, O my God! I beseech Thee…
He is the Most Holy
Glorified art Thou, O my God! I beseech Thee by the Ancient Beauty and the Most Great Name to protect those whom Thou hast chosen for Thyself and made the leaves of this Tree which hath been raised up by Thy command. Have mercy, O my God, upon their young and old through Thy grace and bounty. Then make them to be among those who have acknowledged Thy oneness and recognized that which hath been sent down in the Tablets of Thy Cause. Verily, Thou art powerful over whatsoever Thou willest, and verily, Thou art the All-Knowing, the All-Wise.
BH11030: O Ali! Praise be to God that thou hast…
He is the Beloved
O Ali! Praise be to God that thou hast beheld the Friend, attained unto the Friend, and been blessed with the remembrance of the Friend. O Light of the Dawning-place of lights! BH11066: Glory be unto Thee, O my God! I beseech…
…Glory be unto Thee, O my God! I beseech Thee by the Ancient Beauty and by Thy Most Great Name, whereby Thy sovereignty hath been established over the nations, to make me one of them who are detached in their love for Thee from all else save Thee. Then make me steadfast in Thy Cause in such wise that I may summon all who are in the realm of creation to turn away from all else and turn towards the sanctuary of Thy knowledge and the Kaaba of Thy revelation. Verily, Thou hast power over all things.
BH11146: O my God! Assist the Greater Branch to make…
He is the Most Great
O my God! Assist the Greater Branch to make mention of Thee and to praise Thee, then cause to flow from his pen the wonders of Thy knowledge and Thy mysteries. O Lord! He hath hastened unto Thy good-pleasure and observed the fast out of love for Thee and in conformity with Thy command. Ordain for him every good thing that hath been sent down in Thy Book. Verily, Thou art the All-Powerful, the Almighty.
BH11015: God willing, may you be engaged at all times…
He is God, exalted is He!
God willing, may you be engaged at all times in praising the All-Merciful with the utmost joy and delight, in such wise that the happenings of creation shall not prevent you from extolling the Truth. In the Name of the Beloved Creator!
O handmaiden of God! How blessed is the soul that has inhaled it and has turned with an illumined heart toward its direction.
BH11020: The Most Wondrous, the Most Glorious
The Most Wondrous, the Most Glorious
O servant of the Everlasting Friend! He saith: Thy letter was presented before the Countenance. As it was adorned with the ornament of the love of the Beloved, after having attained the honor of presentation before the Most Holy Court and gaining the bounty of attaining His presence, it became the bearer of the trust of the mysteries of the Pen and returned to that direction. Blessed art thou for having turned toward the Qiblih and for having won victory through God, the Lord of the worlds.

A mention from Us to one of Our maidservants, that she may remember her Lord in every eventide and morn. In the Name of the Goal of all the worlds!
